I've found The Hunchback of Notre Dame German lyrics and thrown them through Google translate, but it's awkward and clunky and I can only barely get the gist of what they mean. Does anyone know of a website and/or translator that would give me better results? Thanks.
The problem is: translators aren't interpreters -- that's an artform all unto itself. Any computer generated things are only going to give you the smae literal translations.
Have you tried searching for the lyrics already translated?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Yeah, I have, and I can't find anything, which is why I'm asking. I was hoping someone had made an English translation, but I have yet to come across one.
The English Lyrics exist for sure. The show was rehearsed in English in NYC at first. There was a time you could find those lyrics on line.
In my heart, I found the answered dream,
and in my soul I found the song, and in my friends
I found the magic, the love,
the moon up above- they were mine, all mine, all along..!
man i used to have the english version too then i lost everything from my comp a while back.
but the translation point is valid, take for example the song the gypsies have, literally it is translated i think as 'dance on a wire' but the english title is 'balancing act' or something to that effect.
