me > feety feet of crap > Ashlee Simpson > Diana DeGarmo
actually, I really liked Christy in Even Stevens..just..not when she sings...
i'd rather be hung from my toes over manure on fire....with Jewel playing in the background...while eating cow eyes...with kitty litter sprinkled on top.

I actually really like diana. i think she'd be a cute belle with a good voice
did no one else hear this girl sing incredibly flat in just about every song she sang?? wtf? i guess i'm the only one with an ear...(i know that's not true guys!)
i thought there were times when she kinda sang cloggy i guess is the word..
rathnait, I 100% agree with you.
I think Diana COULD be good, definitely.
I think CCR was awful.
StephanietheStar, I certainly hope you actually have TWO ears.
God CCR as Belle was bad. She sings all the time on the disney channel in stupid music videos and she has the most whiny poppy voice.
ppst. Shes not very nice either!
her cousins live in the same town as i do, and i saw her at the train stop once, she was not very friendly..
but shhhhhhhhh
(btw this is about CCR not Diana)
Doesn't her voice seem a little out of place for the role.
She has a semi-powerful belt with decent range, but I don't know if her head voice would suit the role.
She looks a little mature for the role I think...

I think Degarmo would be an amazing Tracy in Hairspray.

Is it just me or does Diana's voice have a piercing quality that can really be irritating? (I think her personality is very sweet, but there's something about the voice quality that, while the range is broad----really is better in very small doses)

eabove,
I think Diana could grow into an AMAZING Tracy Turnblad. She's spunky, fun, & certainly the perfect age. The only thing I think she's lacking at this point is attitude. Carly's Tracy has an attitude of "I know who the f*** I am so don't play games, Imma get what I want"...
But from your mouth to God's ears. (Or Marc Shaiman's ears, as the case may be!) Marc, forget about Kelly Osbourne...ask Degarmo to audition.
:)
"She looks a little mature for the role I think..."
You mean as opposed to Deborah Gibson and Andrea McArdle?
hmmm... i think that she would be pretty good in the role, but as it was said before, i'm not sure that she could withstand eight performances a week. still, i think that she would be better than christy. the other half of me is screaming that only broadway performers should get the lead roles... :)
Wasn't Mandy rumored to do Wicked too?
no that was Dorthy Spears
ak Britany
Diana would make a lovely Belle! They need to replace the hideous girl playing her now. ugh! Stop scaring the children Disney :P
If Diana plays Belle, I will actually go see that show. I never saw B&TB because there has never been anyone in the cast worthy of spending that much money on.
Interesting news item - although at this time, neither Disney nor Diana's rep have either commented nor confirmed any such casting possibilities.
I still think she is creepy and robot-like.

newyorkuniq, that comment was totally unnecessary. The only ugly I see is you for saying something like that. Brooke Tansley is a beautiful and amazing Belle. You must be blind.

Aww, Brooke Tansley is not scary!
And Craig: I thought the article said that Disney themselves said that they would like to have Diana... wouldn't that classify as a comment from Disney?
Read the article again - no comment was made by Disney nor Diana's reps.

Obviously 'newyorkuniq'has NEVER seen Brooke Tansley in the role of Belle.I have seen her numerous times and have NEVER seen even one scared child.
I have seen an incredible human being at the stage door, whose tenderness with the children is unmatched.
I have also seen other people perform the role... Susan Egan,Kerry Butler, and Andrea McArdle.Brooke is 2nd to NONE of them.
An absolutely perfect Belle.Someone who is so Great in the role that she has added new life to a show that had been written off as 'a kids show'.
Beauty and the Beast is again a beautiful show that is for everyone.

the only Belle ive ever seen was Brooke, I just didnt have interest in going until she was in it. She does a fabulous job.
Ive never heard of Diana Degarmo so, I wont comment on her.
