I'm curious if anyone attended these performances and what did you think ? I always wondered why LM never did any theater work in the 80s and early 90s. (I know she was first diagnosed with colon cancer in the mid-80s and that kept her off television for a while)."
Yes, I saw Montgomery and her husband Robert Foxworth in LOVE LETTERS at the Edison. My recollection was that she wasn't very "forceful" in the role. Maybe doing more of a TV voice than a theatre projection. And she wasn't doing a Samantha impression, either. Just not very strong or made much of an impression. But, still, it WAS Samantha onstage, live! That in itself was pretty cool. Foxworth was fine...and sexy.
