Did anyone ever see Liz Montgomery on Broadway (1989) ?

I didn't think Liz Montgomery did any live theater since the mid-50s, but apparently she and her partner Robert Foxworth did perform on Broadway in November, 1989 at the Edison Theater in "Love Letters" , They played for a week in late November.



I'm curious if anyone attended these performances and what did you think ? I always wondered why LM never did any theater work in the 80s and early 90s. (I know she was first diagnosed with colon cancer in the mid-80s and that kept her off television for a while).

brodyfosse123 is correct that many film and television actors are not willing to make the kind of commitments it takes to do a Broadway show.

Yes, I saw Montgomery and her husband Robert Foxworth in LOVE LETTERS at the Edison. My recollection was that she wasn't very "forceful" in the role. Maybe doing more of a TV voice than a theatre projection. And she wasn't doing a Samantha impression, either. Just not very strong or made much of an impression. But, still, it WAS Samantha onstage, live! That in itself was pretty cool. Foxworth was fine...and sexy.
