Do you all think ASU could have closed because of the colors?

I know the reason I didn't go see it was because of the colors they chose on the billboards/ads. Not because I didn't like the colors, but because it came off to me as a "childrens' show".

All I'm saying is that it could have affected ticket sales--people wanting to see a show they thought was for adults as opposed to a show that looked like it was for little kids (which I later I found out was very wrong)...

Nope. Plenty of shows with bad logos have done well.

If the advertising had anything to do with it, it was because there wasn't enough. They were in the best located theater on Broadway, and should have done better.

If I wasn't refered for good word of mouth, I'd have never seen All Shook Up.

I must say that for me, the logo and all the marketing campaign, made the show look as if it was really cheap and bad. Even after they replaced the marquee with Cheyenne's photo, to me, it seemed more like a concert or a different kind of low budget show and not a Broadway show where I'd like to spend $100.

While I don't think that the colors are the responsibles for the show's failure, I do think that the whole marketing mix ofthe show had an important impact.

While I agree that the colors and logo screamed "Chitty Chitty Happy Days," I'm not sure about the impact. I do think it looked like any other '50s themed comedy, and really, the world has been Grease!d enough.

On the other hand, if a logo were enough to keep a show open, the world's greatest show logo would still be packing them in.
