No this is not a announcement or rumor of any sort.

After some thinking over what and ideal cast would be...I pegged Allison Janney as a good pick for a future replacement because...

A) She's experienced in theater.
B) Her dry sense of humor may mix well with the show's cynicism.
C) She's star power...(I mean, they hired Lucy freakin' Liu!)

She would be a good Veronica. I don't know who they could pair her with though.

She would own. How about a West Wing reunion - Janney as Veronica, Bradley Whitford as Alan, Janel Moloney as Annette, and Timothy Busfield as Michael.

Janney would be sensational. I'd also love to see her as Barbara Weston in August: Osage County sometime.

Then again, I'd pay to see Allison Janney read the yellow pages.

She would be absolutely wonderful in God Of Carnage. I would consider taking a trip to NYC just to see her in the show.

Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!

i would love to see janey in 'god of carnage'! i didn't like the show, but this is a great casting idea.

"the stage too must experiment - with ideas, with the psychological relationship of men and women, with speech and rhythm forms, with dance and movement, with color and light - or it must and should become a museum product. in an age of terrific implications as to wealth and poverty, as to the function of government, as to peace and war, as to the relation of the artist to all these forces, the theatre must grow up. the theatre must become conscious of the implications of the changing social order, or the changing social older will ignore, and rightly, the implications of the theatre." - hallie flanagan, director of the federal theatre project

She would make a fabulous Veronica. And I love the West Wing casting idea...though I'd probably sub Richard Schiff or Joshua Malina for Busfield.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I would kill too for a West Wing cast! I still can't believe I missed THE Joshua Lyman in Boeing Boeing.

But Janney is such a talented woman. It'd be great to see her back on Broadway!

^Yes! If the movie is still happening Janney would be a great choice for that role.

great casting!
And frankly I'd love to see her paired with the current Annette, Annie Potts, whom I just loved in the role.

AC, I thought of Richard Schiff too but I just think Busfield would play "formerly/secretly working-class" better.

Busfield strikes me as more of an Alan to me. How about a thirtysomething cast with Patricia Wettig, Polly Draper, Ken Olin and Busfield?

Good idea. I'd love to see Janey in this, even though the play did work better with the younger original cast than the older cast they now have playing the roles.

I don't think the age difference matters that much. These are New York couples, who often have children later in life than people do in the suburbs. Personally, I think Allison Janey would be amazing. She is both emotional and a very funny actress. I can see her in either part, but would maybe prefer her in the Marcia Gay Harden role.
