Remember that wearebillyelliot.com contest a 1 1/2 yrs ago?
My email was picked twice for prizes and I have yet to receive them. I called the company, person in charge of the contest got laid off. Was also told that until every winner accepted Terms of Agreements, no prizes would be giving out.

Jekyll & Hyde back on Broadway! / Rock of Ages - 5 Tony nominations! Awesome!
Constantine tweeted this morning that he will be out for the 23rd and 24th coming up. All four performances. He's going out to the Sundance Film Festival to perform.
Just in case anyone was making plans to go to see ROA with him.
Of course, I think this is going to be the first time the new understudy will be in.

Anyone else see Constantine's show at the Highline last night? I thought it was incredible. He sounded a touch disappointed at the turnout but there is a pretty big difference in capacity between this space and Joe's Pub. Had a great time in any case and hope even more people support him in February.
Yes, I was there. Constantine was in fantastic voice, and the band ROCKED. As for the turnout...I really didn't see many empty tables at all. Maybe a few on the upper level, but the lower level looked completely full. If I can be there in February, I will.

Many of them I vaguely recognized but don't know well, here are the ones I knew:
25 or Six to Four Falling Slowly Bohemian Rhapsody Iris (surprisingly good fit for his voice, I thought) Free Ride
He did a sort of mash up of a few songs, including Saw Her Standing There. I specifically remember that one cause I love the Beatles and was really happy he managed to include one of their songs.
The band did a great job on 25 or 6 to 4. They were wonderful. Constantine was superb-- as usual.
>>>He sounded a touch disappointed at the turnout. Did he say something about it? The downstairs was full. I couldn't tell how many people were upstairs.
i have a friend in the music biz and asked him what the capacity is at Highline, he said 250-300 so i'm assuming if you take the tables out of the floor you might hit 350-400. I would say it was at least 250, from our vantage point the floor was packed and the balcony looked pretty darn full.

From my view it seemed pretty full as well. The only reason I thought he sounded disappointed was because he said something to the effect of he hopes more people come to the show in February so that they can take up the tables and really rock. He also said something about practically having to pay to perform. But it's entirely possible I'm misinterpreting what he said.
no, you heard him right. i think he wants it to be a real rock show, and not a sit down at tables and eat rock show, which could be why he switched venues from Joe's Pub to Highline. It's bigger, and has the potential for a good party if the floor becomes GA.
as for paying to play, he probably wasn't kidding. most smaller artists (not saying Connie is, just saying in general) have to play a club/bar/etc. to let them play. So i'm sure he got a cut of the ticket sales but probably not a big cut. As Connie mentioned, the Goo Goo Dolls started out doing that, and look at them now!

noticed in the recent Playbill (January 2010) Constantine is mentioned on Page 8 "FROM THE LEADING MEN:" with a photo too! Caption: "Constantine Maroulis rocking Broadway eight nights a week"
He is also mentioned with a photo on Page 35 "CELEBRITY CHOICE"
>>>>Past history with these things be damned! I always enter- I just don't expect to win. I wonder how many contests in general aren't legit? I never really thought about it until now.
I'm wondering about the lotto to and how its been what with the weather being kind of cold. Oh, i'm also wondering if Kerry is still in it? I know when she started the article said she was only doing six performances a week. Which ones does she miss?
