I am in my mid thirties but look about 22 (I hated looking so much younger in my twenties, but now that I am hitting those higher numbers, I love it). I had a REALLY bad year; I lost my entire savings to someone, I lost my job, I lost my relationship, I am estranged from my family.... I rent a bedroom and that is all I have. I recently started working again and don't make a lot of money.
The one thing that brings me joy or happiness is seeing broadway shows. I am pretty lonely and it is the one thing I actually enjoy.
I used to have an old college ID that had no date on it that I used for student rushes, but I lost my wallet last year.
Does anyone know anywhere in NYC to get a fake college ID? I tried 8th Avenue - all of the souvenir shops that used to sell fake IDs but none do anymore (a shopowner told me that when I asked). There has to be somewhere though to get one??
I know some people will think it is wrong, but my life sucks, I have virtually no money and being able to see shows on the very cheap will help me wile away my days off of work.
Please don't attack me.. it's just a question.
Thanks to anyone who can help. PM me if you wish.
Sounds like you had a sucky year.
This might be new favorite thread.
Brother, can you spare a dime?
You'll be happy to know that Andrew Lloyd Webber is writing a musical about your life as we speak. You're going to be rich!

First of all, I am not sure if this is a serious post.
If so, I am sorry you have had such a terrible time lately and that you are going through so much.
However, engaging in illegal actitivy (possession of fake identification) and unethical activity is certainly not the answer to your loneliness. If fact, it could cause even worse problems.
Additionally, many members of this board are high-school students (and younger) and I think providing information about obtaining illegitimate ID's would be inappropriate (not that they don't know better anyway).
Perhaps you can research more appropriate ways to find tickets and enjoy the shows.
Best of luck to you and I hope your situation improves.
Is it me, or is this the second thread started that I have seen here in the past two weeks asking for help buying tickets?
I have so many college IDs that I'd be okay if I lost one..

I feel you. Anything could go wrong but as long as I have my broadway musicals.....I will be okay :P
You feel him? Interesting.
As long as I have a picture of Antonijans wall I am okay.
Boohoo. I'm so sorry I can't help you, but your story was so heartbreaking I'm now going to go sit in the corner of my room and cry for two hours.
Oh man, can we get a picture of the wall? I haven't seen it for at least a week.
actually this should be the least of your worries, you have much larger issues that you may want to work on
odd first post, I must say
Is anyone else a little shocked this is still here?
I probably shouldn't be giving advice, but as Elphaba said, getting a fake ID and seeing Broadway shows should probably be the least of your worries right now...
Come on, Diva. You know that's not the kind of slamming you like to do.
No, but it's Sunday, and I'm resting.
Yeah, considering he's asking about something illegal, I thought this thread would have been deleted by now.

Hun,
I feel your pain, I do. But engaging in illegal activity like this, can not only bring damage to youself, if you get caught, but can also be problematic for thousands of other students that see shows each year. If you get caught with a fake id, not only do you face charges, but you might make theater owners more hesitant to give student discounts, knowing they may be ripped off. Student discounts are a luxury, not a right.
Seeing Broadway shows isn't cheap, I understand. Maybe you could check out some regional productions that are more financialy do-able. I know it's not Broadway, but it is still theater, and it would be the safer, and more responsible thing to do.
And do not use theater as the sole way to try to avoid your problems. I understand it can be an escape, but do not immerse yourself so deep, that you forget to work on your own issues. Problems and hardship only make you stronger in the long run. Best of luck to you.

I can't help you out on this one, but there's plenty of good theater out there that isn't Broadway that costs even less without having to worry about it being illegal. Find a talented community theater/high school/college and follow all of their productions.
