Great poster! Can't wait to see this film.
And I'm still iffy about Hoffman as well. I'm mostly worried about John Patrick Shanley's direction. I wonder why someone like Mike Nichols didn't get the project instead. Either way, I'm way excited about seeing this.

When I talked to Cherry Jones on tour about the casting of Hoffman she said:

"Which I think is just a mistake, because, well just look at him. Everyone will know he did, no questions asked!"

I love you Cherry, and while I love Meryl, and know she will be a great box office draw, I would have loved to see you on the big screen denying Hoffman sugar for his coffee.

WannaBe, Matt Damon was my first choice from the get-go.
Ethan Hawke would have been a good choice for the role as well.
Basically, there's about ten great film actors (most of who are even a bigger BO draw than Hoffman) who would have been more suited for the part.
Hoffman is a wonderful actor but so incredibly miscast.

I know what people are saying about Hoffman, since he usually plays creeps, but in the film, his performance doesn't skew it either way. There are moments where you may feel he's guilty and moments when you'll feel he's being senselessly persecuted, which is as it should be. Don't worry about Streep, Adams or Davis either. They are all fabulous.

I too really would like to have seen Matt Damon in the role. I will wait for a trailer to see Hoffman. But he is just not the person I would have picked for the role.
