See, there's a thin line between "Southern boy, none too bright," and "full Forrest Gump."
The original production made the mistake of going "simpleton" instead of "simple." Kwanten is a master of doing affable but not the smartest crayon in the happy meal.

I always thought Chad Kimball's bizarre performance was an attempt to channel "Ernest T. Bass" from the Andy Griffith Show.
i think chad said in an interview the voice came from watching the Andy Griffith show when he was a kid or something like that. so maybe it was

I guess you don't read a lot of entertainment news.

Most of the Broadway cast stayed for the entire nearly three year run. They loved the story so much and committed to it like no cast I have ever seen. They should get the opportunity to be in the movie version. Mr. Kimball played the role flawlessly, as an every man who falls in love. That's why he got a Tony nomination. Amazing cast. I hope the movie doesn't suck!

"Mr. Kimball played the role flawlessly..."
It's statements like that that make someone lose any sort of credibility they might have had around here.

Yes, because an opinion differing from your own is totally grounds for dismissal on a message board....on the internet.
Get a tony nomination for playing a role flawlessly, which he did, then you can say such asinine things.

Jordan's oblique references to his identity within the Broadway world always make me think of the novel "The Westing Game" (which my alma mater premiered the official stage version of). I almost suspect there is a large cash dowry to be awarded to the first person who can walk up to a certain Broadway figure and recite the phrase: "Hi, Jordan, I win!"
Next time I get into the city, I'm either going to be greeted with amused surprise or confusion from a certain theatrical personality if I try to use the secret code word.

Lol.
I don't have a tony nomination, I was just teasing. But I held many of them and looked at tem every day for a very long time.
And that's a fun game! We should just walk up to people in a theater and say different screen names. Lol

Perhaps instead of "Broadway Legend" etc, when you reach a certain point, you should get a unique and honorary title.
"Are you The Producer?" "No, I'm The Academic. The girl over here to my right is The Costume Designer."
