Cheyenne is too buff. The casting call asked for someone lean and toned...a swimmers build to be exact...and that's a perfect fit for Matt Morrison. I hope he gets the part.
I'd rather see Cheyenne get the role of Prince Eric in THE LITTLE MERMAID for which he is doing the workshop. Just think of what he would look like in the fight scene against Ursula. Soaking wet with his white shirt torn to shreads.

As much as I'd kill to see Cheyenne or Matthew or really, any halfway attractive man in a loincloth, I can't help but think that Disney's Tarzan is the absoulte LAST movie i would pick to make into a Broadway musical, and it's a BAD idea. (Though I must admit Sutton as Jane....intriguing)
As far as The Little Mermaid goes, I could live with Kerry as Ariel. Whoever said Jessica Grove, that's very inspired casting, I would like that very much. Cheyenne would be a GREAT Eric. GENIUS with Patti LuPone as Ursula, absoulte GENIUS, although I could see a great many people doing that role (plus, LuPone will NEVER happen). Bernadette, Harriet Harris, and Mary Testa are come other Ursula considerations.
But who for Sebastian?
And, while I'm on my trip that Tarzan is not a good idea for a musical, let me throw out there Disney flicks that owuld make GREAT stage musicals: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pocahontas, nad of course, they could always bring The Hunchback of Notre Dame to the states. (Which, I might add, is easily the best choice of any Disney movie for a stage musical and they should have brough it here years ago. Who cares if the new ending is tragic if it's that bad, change it...they are disney, after all, and the only person more powerful that Disney is God)

Posted: 5/29/05 at 2:10pmI was thinking Bernadette as Urusla also, but I don't she's young enough to pull of the transformation into Vanessa (and we all know they would not split the role if she was doing it). :/ Then again, the point is that Eric is under a spell, so it could work. She would do a phenominal job as the character.

Posted: 5/29/05 at 9:15pmi can safely say that ursula/vanessa will be a split role, how many articles have detailed making elphaba green or edna fat, it takes a good deal of time so fat and purple will take even longer

Who says Ursula HAS to be fat?
*Hides in shame for what I am about to admit* But I have seen "The Little Mermaid 2" and Morgana is Ursula's sister and MUCH thinner. It's theatre, hence open for staged interpretation. Urusla does not have to be fat. The purple thing would be a problem though :/
