Posted: 9/13/14 at 1:21pmI'm pretty sure no thread has been made about this yet, but I have recently been thinking about who I would like to see take on some of the major roles in the Disney Broadway show. Who would you want to see be cast?

I think they'll be casting the same way Disney has been for all their shows, finding these aspiring young performers, and put them in possible star-making turns ala Susan Egan, Heather Headley, Sierra Boggess, Jeremy Jordan, James Monroe Iglehart, etc.
Though I would like to see Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Olaf...

^Like TLK and B&TB, it will.
I seriously doubt this will happen, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they do a reality show to find Elsa and Anna. Just like what they did in HSM 3: Having a reality show to find the singer for the song in the credits. Anyone remember that? And what would be a better publicity stunt for a Broadway adaption of Disney's most popular movie (for the moment) like a reality show? Not saying they should do this, but it's possible.

I agree that it will be a young, fairly unknown cast. They won't need names to sell tickets to this one so why pay for names?
That being said, Annaleigh Ashford would be a really fun Anna.

Posted: 10/3/14 at 1:44pmLove the movie, but really can't see this working on stage. I think it would end up more like Little Mermaid than Lion King or Beauty and the Beast.

First workshop has happened on this, but I still think we are a few years off.
I doubt Disney would do a reality show - it would put to much emphasis on the actor, and they tend to want to a strong, powerful show without a star carrying it - making it "actor proof". Lion King doesn't need a star to make it work, and in fact works a bit better without a star.
I think there is enough buzz on the show.

By dream cast you mean in the vain of Dream Curley and Dream Laurey? (Or dream Hannibal and Clarisse)
If that's the case, I vote Brandon Rubendall as Dream Hans and Ryan Steele as dream Christoff. For dream Elsa and Anna, I see no choices but Paloma Garcia and Megan Fairchild respectively.

I can see it working on stage, but I don't think any Disney movie has ever had the natural theatricality to it that Beauty and the Beast has. In my opinion it was Disney's most seamless stage adaptation.
And for Frozen, I'd imagine they'll go down the "talented young unknown" route. Maybe a name in a supporting or Villain role?
