I know we haven't heard much since 2015 but I really hope this comes to fruition. Who would you like to see in the film?

Billy - Hugh Jackman or Aaron Tveit
Julie - Anne Hathaway or Jenn Colella
Carrie - Samantha Barks
Enoch - Aaron Tveit or Darren Criss
Nettie - Kristin Chenoweth

The idea of Samantha Barks as Carrie is truly horrible. Mr. Snow would be painful

I’d think I’d say the 2018 cast, but with Betsy Wolfe as Julie.

Can someone please explain to me the dislike for Samantha Barks? I think she is incredibly talented, and as much as I love Annaleigh Ashford, I think she is a better choice for Vivian, I think she would be remarkable as Carrie.

I don't think just for the movie, I think that cast could work on Broadway too actually.

Yes, Hugh Jackman as Billy Bigalow.(See my post on the subject concerning Hugh Jackman's return to Broadway). Mr Jackman certainly could do justice to the role as well as probably any role he chooses.

She clearly is. If she wasn't she wouldn't have been cast in Pretty Woman, or Les Mis.

Honey... I was saying she was terrible all in all. She's a good belter. She's NOT a soprano. In case you hadn't seen Carousel, Carrie is not a belty role. I'm not super fond of her voice really at all to be honest. That's why she would be a bad Carrie

Saiorse Ronan and Beanie Feldstien for Julie and Carrie (maybe 15 years from now, but them). And obviously dub their voices with actual musical theater singers which I think should be done for every movie musical when they're being cast with movie stars who can't sing. The whole world does it, I don't know why Hollywood is so hellbent on casting non-singers in musicals and be unapologetic about it.

I'll second Betsy Wolfe for Julie. She has the right voice type for the role.
