My friend and I are trying to think up of great Broadway duets for two women.....songs already suggested and shot down: "Take Me or Leave Me" from "Rent", "In His Eyes" from "Jekyll and Hyde", and "Nowadays" from "Chicago". We're looking for two contrasting songs, comical as well as something serious or dramatic.
You could do the obvious ones from Wicked - What Is This Feeling, For Good - or you could do The Apple Doesn't Fall from The Rink.
Comedic: "There's Always a Woman" from ANYONE CAN WHISTLE.
Dramatic: "2 Girls, 1 Cup" from ERNEST IN LOVE.

I've never heard of those songs before, themysteriousgrowl. I'm going to google them or youtube them.....
You might not want to look for the second one. In fact, don't.
But the first one, yes.
I'd check out anything that Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley have done on both of their duet albums. They did some great Broadway duets.
My favorites are:
"Perfect Strangers" (Mystery of Edwin Drood)
"I Know Him So Well" (Chess)
"I Will Never Leave You" and "Who Will Love Me As I Am?" (Side Show)
"Every Day A Little Death" (A Little Night Music)
"If Mamma Was Married" Gypsy
"Two's Comany" The Magic Show
I STILL BELIEVE from MISS SAIGON.
You can do a same-sex take on YOU'RE JUST IN LOVE from CALL ME MADAM or ANYTHING YOU CAN DO from ANNIE GET YOUR GUN.
A Boy Like That/ I Have A Love from West Side Story.

"We Are Women" Candide

"How the Other Half Lives" Thoroughly Modern Millie
"What Kind of Girl is She?" [title of show]
"Secondary Characters" [title of show]
"A Boy Like That/I Have a Love" West Side Story
I'm sure if you search, you'll find a lot of threads about this.

Caitlyn and Haley from Edges would be good for a comedic one.
Two's Company - The Magic Show
Solid Silver Platform Shoes - The Magic Show
We Make a Beautiful Pair - Shenandoah
I Know Him So Well - Chess
What You Don't Know About Women - City of Angels

In the recent tour of Dreamgirls there was a version of 'Listen' inserted as the eleven o'clock number which was sung as a duet between Effie and Denna!
I know you want specifically duets for girls but 'You're The Top' could easily be sung between two girls.
Marry the Man Today - GUYS AND DOLLS
I think Perfect Strangers is a great suggestion because it's a little different; a romantic duet written for two women but not necessarily sung by two women.

What Did I Ever See In Him?, from Bye Bye Birdie

"Flight" by Craig Carnelia, which Sutton Foster sings as a duet with Megan McGinnis on her solo CD "Wish," is a GORGEOUS dramatic duet.

Both comic songs:
"I Could Always Go To You" from PERSONALS - music by Alan Menken; lyrics by David Crane, Marta Kauffman, and Seth Friedman
"Moving Right Along" by Jeff Blumenkrantz was written for two men, but I have heard it work with two girls as well!
Both dramatic songs:
Peas in a Pod
and (if you want to use the other part)
Another Winter in a Summer Town
Both from Grey Gardens!
