I’ve said for years if he wanted a role that fits his type and could get him some acclaim, Jessup in A Few Good Men is literally made for him.

He'd need a strong director to guide him, but I could definitely see him working well in the right role on Broadway.

Come to think of it, it was reported a couple months back he and Stephen Merchant were producing a stage musical adaptation of Fighting With My Family.
Johnson played himself in the movie. It wouldn't be beyond the realm of imagination for him to reprise the role on stage. It was a fairly small supporting role, but I could see how it could be beefed up, maybe serving as the story's narrator or something like that.

Considering that A FEW GOOD MEN opened on Broadway in 1989, when Johnson would have been around 16 years old, I'm pretty sure that the role was not "literally" made for him!
