And for Broadway, Roger is skipping Wednesday evenings and Saturday matinees...
The EVITA performance schedule is Monday–Saturday at 8:00PM, with matinee performances on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:00PM. At Wednesday evening and Saturday matinee performances, the role of Eva Perón will be performed by Christina DeCicco (Glinda in Wicked, Sister Act), with the exception of Wed. March 14 and Wed. April 4, when Elena Roger will play both matinee and evening performances. Beginning April 10, 2012, Tuesday performances will start at 7:00PM. Beginning September 2012, the performance schedule is Tuesday at 7:00PM, Wednesday–Sunday at 8:00PM, with matinee performances on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:00PM, and Sundays at 3:00 PM. Christina DeCicco will then perform the role of Eva during Wednesday and Saturday matinees.

That sucks she isn't doing Saturday matinees. I guess I won't get to see her.
I'm booked for a Saturday matinee and can't change it.
You should be able to change it, or get a refund as Ticketmaster will do that with a named above the title star. Sorry you'll miss her.
I'm seeing the show on a Monday night. Glad I'll be able to see her.
It has been posted that the box office reported they would exchange seats purchased prior to the announcement of the alternate schedule. You should give it a try and see what happens.
And I'm going to encourage you to keep your ticket for that Saturday! Christina is not only a fantastic singer and a terrific actress...she's also one of my favorite people I've ever worked with. I'm beyond excited to see her.
Having seen Elena, I wouldnt say she is a 'must see' in the role
Christina is extremely talented. I'm planning to see it with her instead of Roger.
If you want to see Christina DeCicco, I honestly would refund your full price ticket and use one of the discount codes that is going to be offered for the alternate performances.
I'm sure Christina will be good but Roger's performance is going to be the Tony nominee and what most people are talking about; should that matter to you...

I haven't bought tickets, because I've known since they announced Christina that I wanted to see her, and that it would probably be an easy ticket to get. I really have no interest in Roger based on her vocal performance on the cast album.
I think that's fair. I wouldn't dream of missing Elena Roger, whose performance in London I thought was absolutely extraordinary, but I'd like to see Christina as well.
Did I miss the discount info in the press release? Is it a code or just a lower base price?
There will be a discount code released later this week; I don't think the box office has a standard discount for the alternate performances.
I knew I could get a refund, but I have Carrie tickets for that evening and I can only see Evita that afternoon.

Just in case you can't get your tickets changed, let me say that during the original London and New York runs I saw many a matinee Eva: Marti Webb (London); Florence Lacey and Nancy Opel (New York).
I know it's heresy, but as wonderful as Patti Lupone and Elaine Paige were (and they were), I thought the show as whole often played better with the matinee girls. I don't know why; maybe I found the show more interesting when it was less obviously a star vehicle. And Marti Webb (my personal favorite) played the part ever so slightly broader, turning the show into grand opera; as opera, the bombast of the production made more sense and the weaknesses of Act II were more easily forgiven.
How about contacting the theatre where "Carrie" is, and explain the situation? I wouldn't be surprised if you could exchange your "Carrie" tickets for that afternoon, then see "Evita" that night. Worth a try.
AC126748 - im so excited to see Christina too!
Its such a great start for her!!
Love my Wagner grads!
I hate it when people judge Elena off of the cast recording that was done. It was recorded very early in the run, and it's quite evident in later recordings of her that she was truly remarkable in the role, she just needed some time to settle in and get used to it. I personally cannot wait to see her as Eva.

Tickets were certainly flying today after the announcement.....barely anything left on the night I bought tickets...I had hoped for front Orchestra, got rear mezzanine!
Or is there plenty of tickets left, but Ticketmaster only show a small proportion up for sale and the rest haven't been released by the box office yet.

I agree smallworld it really is silly. Plus this revival is extremely dance heavy, and roger is a great dance, and a phenomenal actress. Not to even mention how emotive she is, and her voice it's grown soo much....
Sorry, but I'm really not interested in an Eva who can't do the score justice.

She does, but in a very different way than LuPone. She takes in a more interesting direction acting wise, her don't cry for me Argentina and her lament are enough to produce actual tears. Plus i mit be a little more willing if you weren't judging off of a cast recording produced when roger was learning the score phonetically. Her voice now is certainly amazing, and she's grown into the part. She really does make the whole production. It's a shame that many only judge her off that recording, she's so much better.
I've also seen a video.
Your welcome to your opinion, but I stand by mine. I'll be seeing DeCicco.
