Yes, Zoran, "The Seven Deadly Sins" is wonderful. I saw one of the two "recording performances". I listen to it on NPR almost every day. Anyone know how I can get a copy. I wrote NPR and they said Nonesuch may be putting out a recording, but I can't find anything official. I think it's lies. I just want a good old-fashioned bootleg. I mean....I love the law. Don't get me mixed up in anything illegal. heh heh heh
It's eckspecially apropos
So if you really want to know
Do I love you?
Don't aks.

First things first. Necromancer, I have stolen your word and am going to use it all the time! I hope you don't mind. (I will, of course, give you proper credit!)
Secondly, hearing Kristin Chenoweth belt a high D as she sings Sandi Patty's "They Could Not" on Easter Sunday 2002, now that's an eargasm.
Though, having an eargasm in church might not be the most polite thing to do!

My last live eargasm was from the touring cast of TMM and the song "What Do I Need With Love" and "Gimme Gimme". WOW!
But your term eargasm is the best yet. I get those when I hear Audra or Brian Stokes Mitchell sing (The Impossible Dream, Oh...My...God, I actually screamed in the car, it was that good). Linda Eder (especially in concert), Lea Salonga, Idina, Heather Headley. Josh Groban. Norm Lewis.

The phrase "working mother" is redundant.

Mario Lanza singing ANYthing but I love his "Donkey Serenade." In my opinion, the greatest tenor ever.

Everyone raves about Shoshanna Bean. I've never had the pleasure to hear her. Is there anywhere I can hear sound clips at least?

Hmm.. most recently would be during "The Next Ten Minutes" from The Last Five Years.
However, live.. it would have to be during the "Seasons of Love" soloist part with the touring cast of RENT. (I seriously thought the walls were going to shatter.. it was so amazing)

The end of "Lot's Wife" when she sings "Turn me to salt. A pillar of salt" and the piano that ends the piece. Also The song "At the end of the day" from Le Miz. I love the harmony. The opening to Phantom is pretty cool also. And finally, Patti LaBelle singing "I love you so much Jesus" in "Your Arms Too Short to Box With God". Blew me away!

"The symptoms of an eargasm: A shivering sensation up the spine, an intense urge to burst out laughing with joy, the inability to resist a smile, sudden breaks in breath pattern, a sense of the heart moving outward, a sudden swelling up of tear ducts resulting in crying."
What a perfect description of the phenomenon! The first experience like this that lept to my mind was watching John Raitt BELT out "Soliloquoy" in Broadway: The Golden Age. I literally, and uncontrollably, started giggling and making these indescribable (but necessary) sounds. Unbelievable.
Other than that, Patti always induces eargasming, as does Anthony Warlow -- I'm so glad to see so many people appreciate him!
In the non-theatre vein, the Choir of King's College, Cambridge singing "Hallelujah" from Handel's Messiah...the perfect recording of the perfect piece of music. The orchestral balances are just right, and the recording quality is outstanding.

^^ Yep, ever since my front-row seats to Matter of the Heart at Lincoln Center...sigh.
She's one of the rare "star" performers who has never let me down and phoned it in. Not at Lincoln Center, Noises Off, Sweeney Todd, Carnegie Hall, or the Plush Room in SF. Class. Sassy class, but still class!

My most memorable eargasm had to have been the first time I ever heard "Role of a Lifetime" from Bare. God, that voice that comes out of Michael Arden just gives me total shivers...
And come Sunday I'll be in the same room as him singing, so I expect PLENTY more eargasms to occur.

I was just listening to a version of "On the Sreet Where You Live" performed by Nat King Cole. I happened to glance in the mirror and I was unconsciencly(sp) grinning. (By the way this is my first post!)
Though it may not be anyone's birthday,
And though it's far from the first of the year,
I know that this very minute has history in it, we're here!

Dear Lord, I think Shoshana Bean should be pictured under eargasm in the dictionary. Seriously, she's the epitome of an eargasm - AND an orgasm
Listening to Idina sing 'I'll Cover You' was definitely an experience.
Seasons of Love, anytime.
Eden Espinosa singing 'Once Upon A Time'
And the first time I heard Clay Aiken perform 'This Is The Night', as well as 'Solitaire'
