Elphaba drop broomstick?

Basically what the subject says... with the announcement of Caissie Levy in Hair, I watched a couple DG clips on youtube and saw some compilations where Steph. J Block tossed her broom from one hand to the other.

Has anyone seen an Elphaba drop her broomstick during the levitation of Defying Gravity? That would be embarrassing, but hilarious!

The subject doesn't say anything. It reads like three words thrown together.

re: Elphaba drop broomstick?

To answer the question I think. I have never seen an Elphie drop the broom but I know that Eden and Steph have dropped it before. Sho knocked her hat off her head on her first night as lead on Broadway.

I never thought I'd say this, but I liked TheCharleston better when he was TooDarnHot.

re: Elphaba drop broomstick?

You don't have to be a stalker. I'm not a fan yet I remember the endless threads about the broom being dropped and the hat falling off during the following weeks after the incidents. And the endless threads of people who weren't there trying to find out if the rumors were true.

TooDarnHot is back? Again? Well (censored).

To answer the question posed at the beginning of the thread, I saw it happen the first time I saw the tour. It was the understudy so I'm not sure who it was. But the woman playing Glinda picked it up and held it while Elphaba finished.

Negative! I work with TooDarnHot in real life, though, so I will send your best to him!!

I'm sure he misses all of you.

He had a mental breakdown after they banned him and hasn't returned to the board since... though I guess he could have lied to me.

re: Elphaba drop broomstick?

Not been there but I know Kerry Ellis threw/dropped her broomstick when the lift malfunctioned, in the recording you hear someone chuckle at it - clearly unaware of what was actually going on...

re: Elphaba drop broomstick?

Part of me thinks Idina dropped it in the first SF preview back in May 2003. The producers recorded the show for archieves and have showcased some scenes a number of times. Anyway, in the PBS Broadway documentary, they show some clips, and there is a brief BRIEF pan out of what pretty much looks like "Defying Gravity"... and she's not holding a broom... Unless they added the broom later in previews... But that's just silly... Cuz isn't the broom the whole point?
