POTUS was offered smaller houses. Ego and ego alone had that show in the Shubert. They never made money during their run. Not a single week I'd be willing to bet."
Well it was my money!
But this is def a stacked cast! I just wonder if the general population cares. Jessie Tyler Ferguson didn't ignite the box office.
I like everyone in the cast, but I would be surprised if any of them caused any sizeable percentage of potential audience members to feel an immediate need to buy tickets to see them in this play, myself included.
SNL's Alex Moffat, Phantom's Nehal Joshi, and Beetlejuice's Dana Steingold have joined the cast.
The production will feature scenic design by Paul Tate dePoo III, costume design by Sydney Maresca, lighting design by Jiyoun "Jiji" Chang, and sound design by Justin Ellington. Casting is by Laura Stanczyk. The Cottage will be produced by Broadway & Beyond Theatricals, Martian Entertainment, and Cornice Productions.
Alex Moffat was a real comic asset on SNL and I'm glad to see him take the stage in a new comedy.
With him now following Rachel Dratch and Cecily Strong, I'm curious to see what other SNL alumni might be inclined to star in some NY theatre productions
