Looking at tickets for MacBeth and have questions on the mezzanine seating. (A) Is the Front Mezzanine covered by the rear mezzanine? (for some reason this always irks me) (B) How far back is the Rear Mezzanine seating? Sometimes they feel like they're in another zip code - specifically at The Walter Kerr Theatre.
Please Alan's show is popular, but frustrated by discount ticket options! Thanks for your help.
I've sat pretty much everywhere in the Barrymore. It's relatively small. The front of the mezzanine is actually my favorite place to sit there. I'm terrified of heights and I didn't like the rear mezz; it's probably not that high to someone who isn't afraid, but it does get pretty steep in the back half. The mezzanine isn't that big, so you aren't super far away. No, the front mezz is not covered by the rear (if it was an overhang it'd be a balcony, no?). There's just a bigger aisle and then it's continuous.
I'm also curious and would like feedback on the front vs rear mezzanines. I've heard the Barrymore is small enough that there's no truly bad seat. That said, I'm thinking about getting tickets for The Band's Visit, and I believe front mezz is about $60 more expensive than rear. Is it worth the extra money? Does the rear mezzanine (particularly the first few rows) provide a good view that's not too distant from the stage? And is the front mezz preferable to the last rows of the orchestra?

I have always loved seating in the front mezzanine at the Barrymore...rear mezzanine is separated from the front mezzanine...
