From ANIMATED-NEWS.com:
Disney World finds Nemo
The newly enclosed Theater in the Wild, once home to Tarzan Rocks!, is preparing to go under the sea with Finding Nemo - The Musical. Set to debut in late 2006, the 30-minute show will feature original songs by Tony Award-winning Avenue Q composer Robert Lopez and a cappella musical Along the Way composer Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Meanwhile, visuals for the spectacular will include “puppets, dancers, acrobats and animated backdrops.” In other Finding Nemo/Walt Disney World news, Epcot is opening its Living Seas pavilion for The Seas with Nemo & Friends, arriving in the fall 0f 2006. Details for both theme park attractions may be found at WDWMagic.com, via Upcoming Pixar.

Yup. And Jenn Simard has been workshopping the role of Dory!
With Kate Wetherhead as Nemo, too.

But we are stil waiting for Finding NAMO the musical....
Jennifer is outstanding. I wish she would be cast in a Broadway show.

Hmmm... Interesting news...
They probably pulled in robert for his input on the puppets? (oh my look at the time! i really need sleep!)
Edited for sake of humility

I agree with some of the past posts: Whats up with all the disney musicals??
I actually hated Finding Nemo and I really dont think I'll see this. Also, what will the music be like? I dont have high espectations for this one.
I think it is adorable. Will Barry Humpries be playing the shark.
I would actually make the trip to see that.
LOL.
I wouldn't be surprised if they brought this to Disneyland as well - the long closed submarine voyage is reopening next year as a FINDING NEMO underwater adventure.
Wow- I totally didn't see that. Well, still, I pose the same question, What is up with all the Disney shows?
Well, let's see...
They're movies everybody has heard of.
It's a name (Disney) everyone associates with an event.
Familiar stories and characters (usually stock).
Usually exotic locales which provides Disney the chance to be "innovative".
Where does it go wrong? Soon, all commercial theater will use Disney as its source!
What happened to Jeff Marx? Are they not working together anymore?

I'm thinking they only pulled in Robert Lopez (and not Jeff Marx) because, if I'm correct, wasn't Marx the lyricist? And while he can most likely write lyrics that aren't of a vulgar nature, I'm sure Disney only needed the composer. And if that's not even the case, it's probably because if you look past any lyrics of Avenue Q, the music is all upbeat, whimsical, and never boring. That's probably a good theory, that he'll be able to write some 'fun' music for Nemo. :)
How fun would it be to get to play Dory?
Escape... haha
Press Release form the Nemo Musical and concept art:
During “Finding Nemo -- The Musical,” Theater in the Wild will become a magical undersea environment through innovative lighting, sound, special effects and the theatrical puppetry of Michael Curry, who designed the richly detailed character puppets seen in the Broadway version of Disney’s “The Lion King.”

You have got to be kidding...
As long as it stays in Disney theme parks I think it will be really cute.

I can't wait to see what he's gonna do with "JUST KEEP SWIMMING, JUST KEEP SWIMMING, JUST KEEP SWIMMING, SWIMMING, SWIMMING..." etc., etc.
I bet he's gonna turn it into something INTERESTING...

i just got back from Disney World yesterday, and saw them renovating the Theater in the Wild at Animal Kingdom, and was wondering what was going in there. Now I know!
This is...cool, I mean, I didn't really expect Finding Nemo of all movies to have a show, but it should do well with the ENORMOUS Nemo fan base thing... yeah
neat.
