OH my god.
I've fallen and I can't get it up. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Well first off, the set is hideous, except for that big TV, which was pretty creative. Tracy isn't fat at all, and her face isn't near as pretty as Carly's or Marissa's. Not that Tracy has to pretty, but she has to be appealing to Link, right? And Motormouth looked like an arobics instructor, how is she "Big Blonde and Beautiful" if she's that skinny? Alot of the choreography is the same, though.

wow. that was frightening. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the lack of color in the cast-though I think I spied a Spaniard, so I guess that counts?
Those teddy bears are terrifying. I'm scared of big oversized stuff...just like those damn bobble head things with no arms in 'Wicked'. They're like Giant EVIL PEZ Dispensers.
And Motormouth gave me visions of Mary Kate Olsen. Coldn't they get her fat arms too? geez. Japan will be exciting though
"it struck me funny that the "Whoa oh oh ho ohhh" in welcome to the 60's is the same in any language"
Well, duh.
Don't be mean newbie.
Oh well, it's good to see the member level indication and date joined _finally_ being put to some good use.

Wow...that's...incredibly disturbing.
Am I the only one who finds "Corny" saying "Tracy Turnbladddd" in a Finnish accent HILARIOUS???
Akiva,
I came from FLorida to NYC and auditioned for the National tour of Hairspray. I got all the way to the Bernie Telsey's group, I sang "Say A Little Prayer" for my song (The moment I wake up, before I put on my Make-up) and I also attached a note to my Headshots/Resume that read in part, "Hire me and you can advertise that you have the 1st Hassidic Drag Queen on Broadway!"
they DO say "Welcome to Hugh Jackman!" in SVU...
I CAN'T WATCH IT! It says that it won't work. The internet page isn't even loading.
Actually Marissa wasn't the model on the posters. It is a girl who was in Camp. Updated On: 7/5/05 at 01:18 PM
Hahaha. The hell
Not working for me either? I get an error page and have tried it on two seperate comps...?!?!?
Well, I couldn't veiew it either, but then it said in order to see it you have to have Quick time installed. So i'm installing it, its odd. Hopefully whe I do install it it works.
hey, it's me checking in with one of those "Just the facts" postings
It IS Marissa on the HAIRSPRAY posters (Bway, tour, CD's, etc). The ad company DID make up a prototype that featured someone else, but that was just as an example for us all to see the idea.

Edna looks more like the original Edna, Divine, from the movie. Tracy is at least 100 lbs too thin and Motormouth Maybelle, is, rather, ummm...interesting.
So sorry. I was told by more than one person and some who I thought were reliable that it was this other girl. My bad for trusting.
I had no idea that producers of a show as big as Hairspray would let it be produced without the original designs, direction and choreography. And I agree, Tracy isn't big enough for that role, and neither is Motormouth. They both need to be padded. I also saw hardly any black performers.

"I also saw hardly any black performers."
As un-PC as it may be to say this, there just aren't that many black people in Scandanavia in general, let alone ones who are also performers. This doesn't mean that they can't use foreign talent, but Finnish isn't the easiest language to pick up phonetically.
exedore is right.
Also, Finland is a small country in terms of the number of people who live there (around 5 million, if I'm not wrong), so there just aren't that many actors to choose from. So with Tracy, they probably went for talent instead of size, since they probably couldn't find anyone with the right combination.
Wax Lion sings,
"Finland, Finland, Finland...that's the country for me!" Wax Lion wonders what scene the fischlapping happens in?
