The revival of Terrence McNallys Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune begins previews this Saturday! Directed by Arin Arbus and starring Audra McDonald and Michael Shannon, the show is set to open May 30th.
Excited to get the 2019-2020 season rolling. Who’s planning on going?
Ive never seen Audra before so Im contemplating this, although Id prefer my first time be in a musical with her. For anyone who's seen this show before, nudity that bad to see with parents/aunts or uncles?

Very interested to read everyone's thoughts once previews begin - my friend and I are going, but not until the end of May. Had a discount code and took a chance. Looking forward to it!
I'm interested, as well. A co-worker got us tickets today for a group trip in a few weeks in the front row using that discount, so any input on stage height/visibility is much appreciated. Looking forward to it; I didn't realize I had seen Michael Shannon before "Shape of Water" (one of my favorites, as evidenced by my avatar) and then of course Audra and Terrence McNally. I did not want to see the film either and had already planned on this for July instead. Very excited to see it. Also, please let me know about merchandise like windowcards or shirts, which I would love this artwork on.

I normally wait until a show has opened and read the reviews before deciding whether to buy tickets but they had some decently priced rear orchestra seats available for opening night on the 30th and I can't imagine how two of our finest actors could turn in poor performances so took a chance. Looking forward to it.
My sister is seeing this on the first preview tomorrow. I have a ticket for July. I'm very excited! If she tells me about it I'll share here

Nice! Hoping to grab a ticket. I wonder if the tickets on Telecharge go up when the box office opens at 10 or if it’s the whole day?
They're only selling 25 tickets per performance, so I'd imagine these are going to go very quickly in the morning.
Can anyone explain how May 29th's performance is ar 6:30pm and May30th's is at 8pm and tickets are being sold to the general public when all of the adverts cite the official opening night is the 30th? Weird. Does that mean those attending will be getting "Opening Night" playbills? Or, is the 30th just when reviews will be posted?

$25 tickets for previews offer is live on Telecharge right now. The full 4th & 5th row of the mezz are all priced $25.

Exactly what I was wondering earlier: if they’d go up at midnight or at 10 to match the box office. Thanks so much for this! I’ll be there Wednesday.

I was skeptical that the sales would start at midnight. I was wrong. We just got home from seeing Vanity Fair in San Francisco and got fifth row center mezzanine.
So now that I finally got a great deal, the play will probably be inexplicably bad.
Thanks for the tip. There are still plenty of $25 tickets available.
I've never been at the Broadhurst. How's the mezzanine?

Great, theatre is small and the mezz is close to the stage.

Thanks so much for the info. - just grabbed two tickets for our date in the fourth row Mezz center. We were originally further back in the Mezz at the lowest original price point, so we’ll try to sell those seats for at least part of what we paid, but even if we can’t it’s still worth it to move up for so little.

Yes, clearly a situation like we just had with Burn This. Red carpet and cast party will be on 5/29, with an official opening on 5/30, when reviews will be released.
First, thank you ALL so much for this head's up: just scored to center mezz seats for May 13! That's the best Broadway offer I've seen in years!
Second, I HATE THE TELECHARGE WEBSITE! I tried on two different devices to buy tickets and was told that I "selected too many tickets" (I selected two and chose two at the purchase page). In either event, I called Telecharge and the representative was incredible helpful and secured the tickets I saw on line in minutes. Very thankful for her and so excited to see Audra back on stage!!!

My sister was in the same predicament. I told her to ask the box office if she could refund her ticket bc she could no longer go, they did for the full amount and she just bought her $25 ticket today. It's worth a shot

SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW:
The opening scene of the play is literally the two title characters climaxing in bed. I saw the last revival some 16 years ago (with Rosie Perez and Joe Pantoliano) and there was also some scattered nudity throughout. At the time I was 13 years old and since I was so young and new to the play I went with my mom. SUPER AWKWARD for sure but it’s something we still laugh about to this day. Was able to grab a $25 ticket this morning (Mom is sitting this one out lol). Very excited to revisit this with 2 great actors one of whom (Audra) I’ve (somehow) yet to see on stage.

this is apparently selling rather poorly which is surprising to be honest.
also thanks telecharge for making a $25 ticket into a 36$ one after fees -.-

I’m not surprised it’s selling poorly but I am surprised it is selling so poorly they had a promo for $25 tickets.
Also, fees suck but I have no issue paying $36 for a Broadway show and knowing I actually have a seat. No biggie.
