FYC Idea for Fosse/Verdon: Michelle Williams as Roxie?

Im going to have to re-watch the whole series consecutively, and its been forever since I have seen the revival of Chicago, but could Michelle Williams feasibly step in for a short stint? I really wish there was a recording of her in the remounting of Cabaret because Id love to hear her. I dont know, it was just a random idea as I was listening to the F/V soundtrack this morning and wanting to just take a look at the series again since its over.

It’s not likely simply because most Emmy voters are in LA and it wouldn’t be on their radar.

Huh?  What does this have to do with the OP’s suggestion?  Broadway has nothing to do with the Emmy Award.

Could she? Sure, but I can't see an A list or at least close to A list movie star wanting to go to the trouble of learning the part to be the 43rd Roxie in a 22 year old show. As was stated previously, it certainly won't help her win an Emmy.

My suggestion kind of did just with the FYC title in the thread.  But yeah, I didn’t consider that they were mostly in LA.

I’m certain the Weissler’s have asked. And I’m certain she has enough respect for her own career to say “no I’m not replacing Christie Brinkley as the 743rd replacement just because I did a couple scenes from it on tv”.
Chicago is a last stop for a lot of these names. The Weissler’s exploit the downturn of a celebrity’s name and career. Michelle Williams is in no way having some kind slump.
