What's the whiteboyspice story?
whiteboyspice = Anthony Rapp
The story... well, he defended the RENT film and was lambasted for it. I still love him though.
There is at least one current poster who is quite famous. He's actually on Broadway now but has asked not to be identified.
But I'm sure sharp eyed readers can figure it out.

If I remember the Rapp thing correctly, it was less about him defending the ReNt movie and more about him privately messaging those who expressed negative opinions of it and trying to convince them to retract them.
Heads up, folks- don't post anything remotely unseemly about these people.
^ LOL. Good thing Kerry Butler never posted on here...
No, the mods are apparently super alert today when it comes to this thread. Even if what I am posting is something anyone with a freakin smartphone and a certain app could find out.
Good point, Kad.
Also, based on the instances I have witnessed of performer interactions here I would say 80% have demonstrated a propensity for being easily offended. They do seem to have very thin skins.
And you can troll and spam the board all you want, but don't insult a Broadway "celebrity"!
OMG you guys!!! This appears to be serious business!
I loved the Rapp story, If I had been posting in those days I probably would've backed him cause I love that film!
I'll try to be more careful with the things I post on here. I mean, for all I know Kad could be Stephen Sondheim and Phyllys could be Perez Hilton!
If Kad is Stephen Sondheim then I'm Patti LuPone.

Some actors are manipulative, charming people. They have a game plan and part of it is befriending people in the right places and even folks who run sites. Especially sites that present the positive side. You have to go to the gossip sites if you want to read the tawdry things.

I know for a fact that Nathan Lane used to post here regularly but I haven't seen his screen name pop up in quite some time.

Sorry I brought one certain name (now deleted) into it, since this is a thread about actual famous people, which she is definitely not.
Only a handful of people here know my actual identity, and TotallyEffed is one of them.
I'm posting before being famous as I type!
Ask me anything.
Abitontheside, I'm in the exact same situation!!
I'm a future Broadway star!

I'm pretty sure I posted in defense of the film in 2005. However, my opinions of it has changed. I got caught up in the moment with that film, but I feel that moment has since left me behind. I can say the same for SPRING AWAKENING. I recently revisited the musical and found that it doesn't hold up for me or affect me the way it did when it first made a splash...
Guys, I'm afraid I'm growing up!
"Guys, I'm afraid I'm growing up!"
Please never do that!! You'd never be able to fly again!
I posted my glowing review of the In The Heights tour and stated that I liked the lead better than Lin. I said that the tour Usnavi had better diction and Lin had marbles in his mouth.
I got a sweet PM from Lin thanking me for the tour review and joking about his diction. Classy guy.
I've actually met Lin here in Puerto Rico and he's a real class act. Amazing sense of humor, very friendly and down to earth.

Bettyboy, thanx for sharing that. He often will comment on people's YouTube renditions of In The Heights numbers...one of my faves was when he particularly liked the Odessa HS Marching band rendition of an ITH medley. He reached out to them, and this skype chat happened...
Lin-Manuel Miranda skypes with the Odessa HS band
Lin is a jewel. I approached him at the intermission of a show, to compliment his work. He seemed genuinely happy someone enjoyed his stuff, and came up to him. (Nobody else knew who he was.)
Yes, class.
The Odessa HS thing is amazing! Never knew about that!
