I agree 100 percent allofmylife

Its selling more tickets than most shows so it has a big audience out there who love it yet on this site it seems to be the thing to do to knock it down (Yawn)

This show has being closing since its previews according to people on here, every week a new comment is made about the show closing...well it hasn't

The show is pulling in half a million a week (again more than most shows)

Also it would not surprise me if the show moved to another theatre (im not saying it will) but lets be honest they want to keep this show open and the producers are very very smart

I agree that it’s unfortunate that this site is little more than a forum for SOME PEOPLE to come and spew their hatred toward shows and individual performers in them. It’s not just toward Legally Blonde and LBB, every show incurs its share of hatred. Not everyone has to enjoy every show, in fact I enjoy reading intelligent debates and reviews expressing differences of opinions, but the out right negativity is uncalled for. This site exists, and we’re a part of it, so we can publicly celebrate our love for theater, not to bash performers and revel in a shows failure.

I hate to harp but I mentioned before, Alan Jay Lerner actually had a name for people who irrationally wish ill on musicals. Apparently, the same faces would show up time and again out in the audience in New Haven or Boston at the previews for musicals. These same people would then bad mouth the show with the phrase "Well, I saw it in New Haven and...."

Apparently, Fritz Loewe would look around the lobby, see these people and mutter "Well, the Dear SH*Ts are out in full force."

Dear SH*Ts. Love that title. Might make a great name for a show about people who love to hate the theater..."

Mmm, I'm seeing this show again next week with my mom and grandma.. kind of a late mothers day gift. :)

I don't understand why so many hate this show. I love it so much.

It's most likely recouped (not positive, but think so)

We are not party to the contract between the producers and the theater owners so how can we say it's losing money? There are deals and then there are deals.

Thanks a lot. I love this website. Many of you have seen my long and windy threads with all sorts of programs and photos about Broadway history. I would hope that more members would post more graphic info on these threads.

I have nothing against sharp, biting commentary. Broadway, after all, was built on the columnists like Dorothy Parker and the other members of The Viscious Circle which gathered to eviscerate each other and skewer Broadway at the Algonquin Round Table (and then ruthlessly self-promotingly write about each other in the eleven daily newspapers and magazines like The New Yorker.)

The thing is, they were surgical. They got in, made an amputation and got out. They didn't spends months endlessly harping about shows they didn't like.

If you have to say something that isn't nice, at least do it with some wit and style.

The Broadway Show deathwatch threads are old and lame.

I think that once LBB leaves, the show's technical flaws (a script that's about 1/3 as funny as its source material and a score that's terribly repetitive) will start becoming more apparent in the absence of her charisma and charm.

"I wonder what the casts of shows must feel when a site called Broadwayworld revels in production deathwatches. This type of **** is more appropriate for Perez Hilton or The New York Post."

If the casts of Broadway shows are even taking the time to read our opinions, it should be a warning sign.

I agree with you (to an extent). I can be nasty on this board - I am very opinionated and feel strongly about certain shows on Broadway right now. But I also am happy to discuss and debate and inspect. I do bash, but I bash with evidence and support.

It's all a bit negative but I think many of you also need to develop thicker skin. Many of the posters on here are a bit too sensitive. The internet really has an ability to warp perception, but I find there is a small group of you who are the "victims" - someone's always attacking you. This is not the case.

Allofmylife... very well said, even if I do not agree 100%. I don't think the board is as bad as you are making it out to be though. "Deathwatches" aren't meant to put actors and musicians and stagehands out of business. Some of you don't understand the intentions.

I like the show. Just thought i'd say that to avoid confusion on where I stand re: Fate of Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods?.

A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

I was out to dinner a few weeks ago and happened to sit next to a table of actors, many of whom I recognized, most of whom have done Broadway. Being a Hollywood eatery, we all ended up talking business. Eventually, we got around to Broadwayworld.com as I was telling them about my "On Your Toes" mega-thread. I was surprised that two of them had already seen it.

Then, of course, we got to one of my favorite subjects on this board, the "Legally Blonde Understudy" thread, with its hundreds of listings. The intricate detail of the discussion on this thread has always amazed me due to its arcane nature.

The upshot is, five of the seven people at the table knew BWW quite well.

You may be more famous than you think.

Legally Blonde might last a little longer, but they need to do some serious stunt casting to stay in the game.
Which would totally work for them, come to think of it. Get like, Haylie Duff or someone to play Elle, some teen heartthrob to play Warner, and some washed up '80s pop star to play Paulette.
Hell, Bob Saget could play Callahan.

The show already works a lot better without her. All of her understudies have brought a lot more to the role than she ever has.

The fate of the show does not ride on Bundy staying or leaving, it would rest on some good stunt casting which is not going to be fulfilled with the winner of a reality show. As for actors reading and knowing about threads on this board, I'm going to guess it's only actors who are currently out of work and have too much time on their hands.

Actually i know when i was doing a show in London and we were in previews myself and a few others would always have a look on the west end board to see what people were saying, even our director did once (as well as looking on Dress Circle)
