Hey everyone, I've been reading everyone's posts for a while now and decided to join in on the fun. Just wondering, what is everyone's favorite finale number? Thanks!

The finale of Stephen Sondheim's Passion.
"I don't want to leave now that I am loved."
Touches my heart everytime.
I'm sure none of you are surprised.

Dracula...how he disappears from the coffin and sand is left. And Van Helsing pics up the sand and lets it slowly drip from the cup of his hand....the music swells and the lights come one and rose petals fall.

I love so many, but the first one I thought of was the finale of Les Mis starting with "Do you hear the people sing". It's so powerful, and I love it.

- That is such an amazing finale. I get goosebumps everytime I listen to the song.
A Classic one though is Rose's Turn/dialogue after the song. The whole "Madam Rose and her daughter....Gypsy", gets me every single time. BRILLANT!!!

Rose's Turn - Gypsy
And totally You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray, because it's extremely fun...and it just keeps going and going.

I'd also have to say Hairspray, mostly because "You Can't Stop the Beat" is one of my favorite songs in the score, and I like how it encompasses all the main characters and wraps their stories up.
Les Miserables is another one--the music is so haunting and beautiful and powerful then!
