re: Favorite Finale

I agree with those that have said "A Chorus Line" and "The King and I." Very thrilling and emotional show endings.

I would also add in "West Side Story" because it ended so quietly and (at least in the original production) had no curtain call. It was a pretty devastating and off-putting "finale" to the show. Ground-breaking, actually.

Can't believe no one said this one yet:

Children Will Listen-Into the Woods

It tears me up every time.

re: Favorite Finale

Several of my favorites have already been mentioned (Les Mis, Titanic)..but I will go ahead and add Parade to the list. The reprise of The Old Red Hills of Home is powerful, the image of Mary wishing Leo a happy memorial day is heartbreaking...all in all a very moving finale.

re: Favorite Finale

POTO -His passionate belting on his last words of goodbye are so moving.

The Sound of Music - The Climb Every Mountain Reprise while the family escapes is so amazing.

Into The Woods - Children Will Listen, not to mention the 3 preceding numbers are just as strong.

Pippin - I love the way the ensemble sings in the song, when it's him alone not so much .... but the ensemble is amazing as is the leading player.

YAGMCB - Not really, but who doesnt get emotional when Lucy says "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown"

Les Miz- all the reasons have already been mentioned.

re: Favorite Finale

My fav is "Goodbye Until Tomorrow- I Could Never Rescue You" from The Last Five Years. Emotionally powerful song because if its duality of feelings. It really puts everything in perspective and maintains the theme of the musical so well. It gets me every time.

Ooooh chicago, chicago, chicago. I love Nowadays/The Hot Honey Rag... I love the audience interaction and I LOOOOVE getting roses.

I loved the end of Bounce too... because that meant it was finally over.

The ending of Hollywood Arms always killed me... no matter how many times I saw that show I was always in tears at the end. I really wish it'd been taped for the archives

I also adore the sing along end of Spamalot re: Favorite Finale (and you know, I love confetti lol)
