Hi all! As we hear up for the holiday season, I’m sure a lot of us are starting to brush off some of our favorite cast recordings that evoke the season. Just curious to hear what some of your favorite Holiday or Christmas themed moments or songs are in a musical. Some of my personal (if obvious) moments are:
She Loves Me- Twelve Days to Christmas, especially in the most recent revival with that beautiful set
Rent- Christmas Bells, I’m always a sucker for ensemble numbers with multiple stories going on and I tear up every time Angel buys that coat for Collins
A Christmas Story- Just Like That, This isn’t not a great musical but id be lying if his song didn’t have me in tears thinking about all the work my mom does to give us ge perfect holiday season. I’m excited to see what Maya Rudolph’s does with this on A Christmas Story Live
Mame- We Need A Little Christmas, no explanation needed here. This scene/song are pure joy
As a kid I loved the song "Christmas" from Tommy.
Hard Candy Christmas from "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"

"My Favorite Time of Year" from Catch Me If You Can

I love 12 Days to Christmas, but nothing comes or will likely ever come close to We Need a Little Christmas. Pure joy.
I second "Hard Candy Christmas". I also really love this version of it:

There is a pretty song in Who's Holiday. I can't find any credit for it in my Playbill but it lists Michael Sottile under original composition. It sounds a lot lot "Blue Christmas"
Also, "A New Deal for Christmas" from Annie.
"A Place Called Home" from A Christmas Carol.
