I cannot pick one and I have phases, right now the top choices are:
1. "Shall I Tell You What I Think of You"-Donna Murphy.
2. "Younger than Springtime"-Jason Danieley.
3. "Shall We Dance?"-Any version, song is too perfect.
4. "Something Wonderful"
5. "People Will Say We're in Love"
6. "Surrey with the Fringe on Top"-Laurence Guittard.

Although "They Can't Take That Away from Me" is wonderful, it's not R&H, but the Gershwins.
Their scores for SOUTH PACIFIC and KING AND I rank as truly great, start to finish.

Shall I Tell You What I Think of You, Donna Murphy
People Will Say We're In Love, Shirley Jones and Gordon MacRae
You've Got to be Carefully Taught, original
Solilaquy- John Raitt
Just to add my two cents on the "I Have Dreamed" preferance, although I think Lea Salonga is beautiful on the recording she just does not reach the “vocal heights” that Doretta Morrow accomplishes on the OBC recording.

I like You'll never walk alone as an anthem, power, but it wouldn't be my favourite.
I HAVE DREAMED
SOMETHING WONDERFUL
CLIMB EV'RY MOUNTAIN
EDELWEISS
THIS NEARLY WAS MINE
Hard Decision.
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Soliloquy. Absolutely spectacular.
A close second would be Lonely Room.

I love the way Barbara Cook sings both A Wonderful Guy and The Gentleman is a Dope.
My favorite score is South Pacific, but my favorite R & H musical is The King and I. I was in Cinderella when I was in High School, and I really would love to see both Allegro and Flower Drum Song onstage.

yes, "Far from the home I love" is Bock and Harnick from "Fiddler"
I love Bernadette's rendition of "What's the use of wonderin'" form Carousel
and "you'll never walk alone"

Posted: 4/5/07 at 11:19amIt's an easy answer, but You'll Never Walk Alone. It's actually a *great* song to listen to when you're going through a ****ty time.

Some Enchanted Evening is one of my faves.
I also must admit that I love Christine Ebersole and Billy Stritch's rendition of "Surrey with the Fringe on the Top". (it's very well-done and jazzes the piece up beautifully.)

"Love Look Away" as sung on the OBCR of FLOWER DRUM SONG which I saw and loved back in 1959.
"This Nearly Was Mine" as sung by the wonderful Ezio Pinza, from SOUTH PACIFIC.

I think Something Wonderful is the best (see, didn't do the easy joke of something wonderful is something wonderful)
but, my "favorite" is "I Caint Say No"
