Finale of The Secret Garden- Mary opens the garden door for the first time and slowly walks into the smoke filled doorway. It looks as if she is walking into heaven.... either that or some sort of alien ship. Plus, the music is amazing at that moment.

Sunday- What can I say? Pure BRILLIANCE.

also "Defying Gravity", "Dawn" (with the four seasons' backs to the audiance facing a "stadium"), and "A Little Priest" are right up there too.

My two favorites for these exact reasons:

"There's a Fine, Fine Line"- Avenue Q: A very sad and moving ballad in a mostly light, hilarious and breezy musical. I love it!
"A Little Priest"- Sweeney Todd: A laugh-out-loud, showtune-esque song in a mostly morbid, dark, dramatic and operatic musical. I love it even more!

Almost everything I'd say has been mentioned, but I'd say them anyway...


"A New Argentina" - Goosebumps I tell ya. Goosebumps.

"A Little Priest" - So good and so deliciously evil.

"My Own Best Friend" - I just really do like this song.

"Kiss Me Kate" - Great comic number.

"Dear World" - I think Jerry Herman has always done great Act 1 finale songs so this can easily be inter-changeable with most of his other shows. They all basically are great in my opinion. :)

And personally I like to pretend that "Soliloquy" is the real Act 1 finale instead of the reprise of "June is busting all over" as well.

My favourite would have to be Defying Gravity but I love in Rent Remixed that Christmas Bells ended act 1, I love that song and think it worked well at the end of the act.
