Nothing that hasn't been said, really...
"One Day More" from Les Mis (great to watch, but downright blood-pumping to perform)
"A New Argentina" from Evita
"The Gods Love Nubia" from Aida
And for a second I was tempted to say "Christmas Bells" from Rent (and didn't, for obvious reasons) because it has always seemed like an Act One closer in the back of my mind--a fantastic jumble of sound from the entire cast, topped off by that wonderful "SNOOOWW!!"

"Till We Reach That Day" - RAGTIME. This number is still my favorite Act I closing number. Amazing scene with breath-taking melody. The power of the vocals in that "Give the people A DAY OF PEACE..." just blows you away!
Other favorites:
"Defying Gravity" - WICKED
"If I Can't Love Her" - BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
"My Own Best Friend" - CHICAGO

Oh wow, this shows how ignorant I am, but "One Day More" is the end of Act One song in Les Mis? I've never seen the show, but am obbsessed with it through the OBCR, and always assumed that Act one was disc one and act two was disc two, thus the ending song was "Do you hear the people sing"...
Act one really extends into One Day More?

BwayBoi- If i can't love her is not from Batboy. But maybe just a typo
Speaking of ... I agree that "Comfort and Joy" from BatBoy is THE best act 1 ender.
But I also like in Forum, how they ask him for any last words and he says "intermission." I've seen the show dozens of times and I still crack up.

haha, well said Weez.
'Go Go' is one of my favorites. I was recently in a regional production of Joseph, and would always look forward to wearing the 60's dress and doing toe-touches and barrel turns (we did it as a dancing show)
i also love Jimmy from Millie, and Big, Blonde, and Beautiful from Hairspray.

My favortie would have to be "Sunday" as well...so perfect
but I also love Say it Somehow from Piazza and regardless of wether you like the show or not you do have to admit defying gravity is a killer act one finale song.

In spite of it being very overpowering in a loud belty fashion, I find Defying Gravity easily trumped by the visual and emotional power of "Sunday".
Just seeing it come together is so moving with that subtle force behind it that you spent an entire act witnessing. Easily one of the best theatrical moments ever, it is a tearful sight combined with terrific music.
