Nathan Lane - Guys and Dolls, Forum, Producers. There is just no better male comic performer in musical theatre.
Zero Mostel - Brought "larger than life" to new levels. Inimitable performaces in Fiddler, Forum and Rhinoceros. The Producers film. Fearless comedian.
Howard McGillin - I am in love with Howard's voice. What a dream Phantom and the most beatifully sing Billy in Anything Goes ever. He was also a first rate replacement in Spiderwoman.
Robert Preston - what charisma and presence. While not the greatest singer, per se, an amzing story teller. Unbelievable in Music Man, I Do I Do and Mack and Mabel. Also shines in the Victor/Victoria film. Thank God his Harold Hill was preserved on Film.
Of the "newer" guys, I am quite fond of Gavin Creel.
I place for you some photos in his ensemble role.
Oh sorry! It didn't work. src=
Brad Little! He's what made me fall in love with theater.

Brian Stokes Mitchell- You look up amazing in the dictionary and there's a picture of BSM.
Mandy Patinkin- He's got one of the best voices I've ever heard. Period.
Roger Bart- I love me some Roger Bart. He's such a wonderfully comedic performer. And a sweetie, to boot.
As for up and comers, I'd said Matt Morrison is an awesome singer/dancer/actor. That man is a triple threat and has big things ahead of him.
Norbert Leo Butz...he's just so wonderful & cute. I fell for him when I saw L5Y. Beautiful voice, beautiful songs, beautiful man! Of course, I love him in Wicked...it's such a great show. I can't wait to see more Norbert.
gotta say Matthew Broderick. I'm still listening to him on the H2$ CD.

John Raitt - "Carousel" and the definitive 'Soliloquy' - also "The Pajama Game". What a voice. And still going today at 87 years young.
Alfred Drake - "Oklahoma!", "Kiss Me Kate", "Kismet", "Kean", "Gigi"...need I go on?
Jerry Orbach - one of the most reliable leading men on Broadway during the 60s and 70s
Zero Mostel - gave two of the most memorable character creations in Broadway musicals - "Forum" and "Fiddler"
Robert Preston - wasn't remotely a star till "The Music Man" and held the title forever afterward
John Cullum - Breathtaking performance in "Shenandoah", wonderful in "On the Twentieth Century", "On a Clear Day...", "Urinetown"
Brian Stokes Mitchell - probably the most notable Broadway leading man of our time.
George Hearn - Brilliant performer w. great baritone

I really have to agree with John Raitt - I've seen him sing live twice (within the past three years) and his voice is still so gorgeous!

I agree with all the Nobert lovers. He's adorable ! I loved him a Fieryo, despite the fact people claimed he was wrong for the role. He brought so much warmth to that character and his voice in As Long As You're Mine, brought me near to tears. He's amazing and a sweetheart of a guy.
