At his book signing a couple of days ago, Anthony said that it's very likely to get a production in a year or so. No official word yet on the specifics, but he got that from the composer, soooo...
Someone told me that when Anthony was at their school, he said something might happen next fall. I really hope so!
I know Amy Spanger and him both really want to be a part of it too, so I hope they get to be involved.

I am SO SO SO exited at the possibility of it coming to broadway with both Amy and Anthony!!!
and in a year or so? that is BEYOND PERFECT! cause, you know, I'm trying to get into NYU, and I'm a junior right now... sooo, it'll be PERFECT timing for when I finally get settled in in the city and everything and can go to see it many, many times *g*
I really hope annaleigh sticks with it too.. although I think she's in legally blonde right now.. but I really love her.
"Get a production" doesn't mean "coming to Broadway." The last I heard, the possibility was for an off-Broadway production, so from what he said, my assumption is that that's still the case.

oh ok, thats fine by me- I love off broadway too :P just as long as it gets a production- one that I can see- I'm beyond happy! *g*
In Tom Kitt's bio in the High Fidelity playbill it states he's the composer of Feeling Electric which is currently in development with Second Stages. Auspicious!
Anyone want to tell me what the show is about?
It's about a mother, a father and their teenaged daughter. The mother is very deeply depressed, presumably because of the death of her son when he was very young. As is typical in dealing with depression, it doesn't only have a devastating impact on the person with the condition, but on everyone around him or her, so it's tearing the family apart and wearing thin the mother's relationships with both her rebellious daughter and her husband. She begins seeing a new doctor who suggests electric shock therapy treatment, the course of which is the main plot of the show.
Interesting.
Scary.
Makes me think of Requiem for a Dream a little...
Thanks

Lately, I've been having an obsession with the songs "I Am the One" and "I Am the One (Reprise)" 1 and 2, I just can't get enough of the best and the lyrics, it's awesome.

^oh man, the acting in I Am The One Reprise 1 and 2 is SO INCREDIBLE.
oh, and I JUST realized about a week or two ago as I was listening how Gabriel is like "hey dad" really softly after he says is name. And I got MAJOR shivers. I dont know what it is about it...maybe its just the way he said it... but yeah.
is the plot based on a book or anything, or was it written specifically for the show?

The whole musical is original, which makes it even better.
I just heard Alice Ripley singing "I Miss the Mountains" and now i'm obsessed with finding more about this show. I'm glad I ran into this thread!
Alice Ripley did a workshop of it, I love her voice, but I still can't help but root for the casting of Spanger. Although I still need to hear Ripley sing I Miss the Mountains.
Oooh, plus, I think the mother is far more than simply depressed, bi-polar or schizophrenic maybe?
Just hearing Alice talk about it on the live album made me so curious to hear the show. I'm a huge Alice Ripley fan so I think she would be a great asset to the show but I do think Amy Spanger's voice is amazing too and she seems to have been more involved w/ the show than Alice (who is friends w/ the composer). Either way, check out her version of the song, it's very simple and very beautiful.

I NEED amy to be in the show :) seriously, she is so, so, so good. Not that other people (like alice) wouldn't be I'm sure, but just... I get attached to people in roles very easily, and I'm very, very attached to amy in the role. lol
I'm scrounging about for a recording...Can anyone link me, or point me in the right direction? It'd be GREATLY appreciated!

I'm not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Feeling Electric has a Myspace page. There are four recordings from the show (I believe they are from the Cutting Room cast)on the page.

Feeling Electric is awesome beyond all belief. It has some of the most real characters that I've heard in a long time. From what I've heard, there's a production in the works for the fall.
