Posted: 9/2/05 at 7:36pmWent to see Fiddler again last night with a friend and there was barely 600 people there. I also heard that there is an extremely small house tonight, do you think this will last until Jan? I don't think Rosie is really going to help it very much.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 8:16pmThat is very sad news. No, I don't think Rosie is much of a draw, but hopefully she will ring an improvement. Do you know when Harvey's contract is up. Because I thought Harvey and Andrea signed on at the same time and they havent announced a replacement for Harvey.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 8:27pmHarvey is staying with the show until it closes on Jan 8th, if it last that long.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 8:34pmwell..the show is kinda boring...i can see why....Rosie will bring a lot of people to the show.
re: Fiddler less than half empty#5
Posted: 9/2/05 at 8:45pmAlot of people were getting out of the city early to get a jump start on the weekend. Maybe the attendance will rise after the holiday.
re: Fiddler less than half empty#7
Posted: 9/2/05 at 8:47pmI'd imagine that there are people who are interested in seeing the show, but will now wait until O'Donnell joins the cast, hence the low attendances.

Posted: 9/2/05 at 9:05pmWouldn't it be MORE than half empty?

That's what I was just thinking.
The production is a bit cold, though I really enjoyed it.

well... less than half signifies even less then half... more then half EMPTY could signify two things... it could be... well MORE than half empty (meaning 51-2 percent) or more then half EMPTY (with more taking the place of worse...)
I think Rosie will bring a pretty good crowd, and also it's the end of the summer... people are going back to school, and just generally busy. Give it a few weeks until all the schools start back up again... and regularity ensues. Then Broadway attendance will ensue it's regularity too.

Posted: 9/3/05 at 1:52amI think to bring back the crowds, David Leveaux needs to step up the disturbing "Matchmaker Matchmaker" staging to the next level. Now, instead of just spong bathing each other, the sisters should begin to kiss and remove each others dresses. Knowing Leveaux, this wouldnt be too insane of an idea.

Posted: 9/3/05 at 8:26am"Less than half empty." Doesn't that mean the theater was 3/4 full?
re: Fiddler less than half empty#15
Posted: 9/3/05 at 8:33amI'm sure once Rosie gets there tickets will increase... Doesn't she go on soon?

What a shame. I went the first week Harvey went in.
I loved it. It is a slow weekend, that will not last.
Love Harvey and Fiddler is a wonderful show.
I hope it turns around soon.

For me this revival of Fiddler was satisfying artistically. II had
I love Leveaux's work and would definitely buy a ticket to any show with which he is associated. I liked Alfred Molina as Tevye and can't really imagine Harvey but I am thankful that Harvey came in to sell tickets. I was horrified when I read that Rosie was to come aboard but I guess I am thankful that she will come in as ticket sales are bound to rise.
