I've read that Matthew is leaving next January, that Laura has extended her contract by another year, and Carolee leaving for Tuck Everlasting. I know the one about Carolee leaving is true, but what about the other two? I just need some confirmation on this.
Also, will Kelsey be leaving anytime soon?

Matthew is leaving January 24th, but it hasn't been officially confirmed by the show, but it is true. It's on ticketmaster and everything. I guess they are waiting for a press announcement to be released that mentions his replacement.
I heard a rumor that Laura has extended another year but I don't know if there is any truth to that. But Kelsey? Where have you been, lol? Kelsey left at the end of June and has been replaced by BOTH Anthony Warlow and Terrence Mann. But actually Kelsey IS returning to the show on January 19th, and will play a 7 week limited engagement through February 28th. Enjoy!
Kelsey Grammar is slated to return the week before Matt Morrison's run ends, so my guess is they bring him in to have a "name" star and strengthen the chances plus 12 month run to recoup costs.

Although this show sorta sucks, the Frohman/ Hook role is awesome for older character actors. Can't wait to see who takes over the role next.

I quite like the role of Frohman and Hook in the show. I love all of his songs especially Live by the Hook, Play, and Something About This Night. I didn't hear Anthony Mann or Terrence Mann in like a snipet or anything, but I've heard Kelsey Grammer. I am so excited to see him as he is one of my favorite TV actors of all time and he sounds like so much fun in this role. I wonder if they continue to want a star for this role, if they'll approach Bryan Cranston whose a producer on the show. That would be interesting.

As obsessed as I'd be with that casting, I think Cranston might be too big of a star for that role. He's been busy with hollywood stuff lately.

It might be. I just remember hearing a rumor that when Kelsey first left the show that they were considering replacing him with him. They'll probably go with another theatre actor after Kelsey. And if grosses go up and the price is right I wouldn't be surprised if Kelsey extends a few more weeks/months.

I really hope you are right, bfreak. It would make me take a trip back to the Lunt-Fontanne.
Harvey Weinstein has a lot of 'big name' connections, so the show may surprise us with a big name that we otherwise might not have expected to be in the show.

I'm expecting a big name replacement for Barrie. Harvey knows the show will struggle without a name, and he'll be willing to put up the cash for it. Let's start a predictions game. Who else (besides Chris Pine) do you think is a realistic possibility to replace Morrison?
I'd say Nick Jonas. I know he's young, but he's a big name, been on Broadway, and would attract the target audience for the show. But if they want to go older Chris Pratt wouldn't be bad.

Some other people I know have suggested Nick Jonas. But while he's good, I just don't see it for some reason. He's too young and I think that maturity is a characteristic that is needed for this part.

Chris Pratt would be interesting but could he sing?
My sister just said Matthew Morrison reminded her of Justin timberlake and I'm thinking that timberlake would be a great candidate.
Harvey Weinstein is a powerful man, but there is no way he could convince Chris Pratt or Justin Timberlake's agents to be the first replacement for the guy from Glee in a critically despised musical. I'm not saying they won't get a name, but someone that big isn't going to be playing this role in this show.

Wishful thinking but....they let Kevin Kern play the role until Jeremy Jordan wraps Supergirl and he plays the role through the spring and early summer. Although they will have shift the keys of many of the song back UP to where they were at the ART....

Jeremy Jordan is not going anywhere near this production last I heard...
Chris Pratt is also one of the biggest names in Hollywood right now. He'd be a fool to accept a gig as a replacement in this musical at this point in his career.
It's preposterous to even consider it as a possibility.
I'm interested to see what back-from-the-dead "name" is forced to board this sinking ship.

I'm dying to know when they are going to announce Matthews replacement. Next week the BOGO tickets go on sale and I want to know if I should make plans to see him before he leaves or if I should see his replacement.
He has less than a month remaining I find it odd they have not replaced him yet or at least made an announcement.

I agree because you would think the replacement would have had to begun rehearsals by now. Maybe, they are still trying to get Mr. Morrison to extend.

Why do you consider it a sinking ship? It has been grossing close to $900,000 every week since Thanksgiving week (Thanksgiving week was over 1 million) with about 72% of the theater full. I am not sure what the break even amount is but doubt it is that much more than they are grossing. This show has close to the same numbers the last month as "Something Rotten" which did get Tony nomination and had winner in Christian Boyle. January and February are tough months for lots of shows so we will see but I think it will survive.

Riedel did a piece about the grosses slump during the pope visit /UN assembly weekend claiming that the low 700k mark that Finding Neverland hit was a bit close to the break even point for comfort. I dont know how accurate Riedel was but that means that the break even point is about 700k, which sounds right. That means so far the show only lost money in one week, Halloween, where it was some where in the mid 600k. It's doing fine.

Kelsey Grammar is set to return regardless of Matthew Morrison's replacement; however I'm guessing an official announcement any day now.
Still scratching my head as to how a show that in 40 full weeks has grossed close to 40 million is perceived by some as financially floundering, with its latest gross being over 900K.
