First show on Broadway was Les Miserables in 1988.
First show I saw was The Pajama Game in 1975 and I still remember bits of it.
Margo - Isn't the story of The Black Crook (the history, not the actual plot of the show) the basis for the musical The Girl in Pink Tights?

My first foray onto Broadway was The Leaf People back in 1975 or 1976. I recall not being able to get into Chorus Line. Joe Papp produced both, so I naively thought they were of the same calibre. It had to be the worst show I ever saw (until Thou Shalt Not). Surprising that I even kept up with theatre after that fiasco, but then...Chorus Line, Pippin, Chicago, Grease and Godspell kept that magic alive for me. That was over 300 shows ago!

Can't remember when but some time in the late 90's I saw the Revival of Annie Get Your Gun with Reba, Phantom, and The Lion King (But I dont count those, even though there all pretty great I can barely remember them).
So I count my first show as the revival of Little Shop of Horrors...still my favorite show EVER!

Peter Pan. I was in the 2nd grade. I cut school to go to a Wednesday matinee with my dad. We lived downtown then, and we took the subway up and it was POURING rain and my dad had bronchitus.
Still the greatest day ever though :) I remember being so excited when Peter Pan flew right over our heads.

My first show was The Music Man at a local theatre when I was in second grade. My friend played Winthrop, so that's why I saw it.
First Show on Broadway was Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Merlin in I believe 1983 at the Mark Hellinger. Lots of stars:Nathan Lane, Chita Rivera and Christian Slater as well as Doug Henning.
The show that made me a theater lover however was The Who's Tommy in 1994(Late Bloomer). Before Tommy I saw three broadway shows. After Tommy well over one hundred. Looking forward to the production in Sag Harbor! I hope it is as good as The Berkshires a few years back.

My first "real" show ever (one that was not done by the high school drama club that my older brother was in) was a national tour of Ira Levin's "Deathtrap" in 1979. I was in high school.
My first Broadway show was "Pirates of Penzance" with Linda Rondstadt, Kevin Kline and George Rose. (Rex Smith was out that evening.) I still use a brass key chain replica that I bought from Macy's after seeing it.
My favorite Broadway experiences "Sunday in the Park with George" (3 times) and "Grand Hotel" (2 times in two consecutive evenings).

Mister Matt,
Yes, indeed. The story of "The Girl In Pink Tights" is based on the creation of "The Black Crook."
