haha jwei... i could never put that pic as my avatar... its too scary... i'd feel like i was looking at myself... which hey, who would wanna see that hahaha
The reason I liked it so much was it made more sense, and they cut out crappy bits like the Bravo, Monsieur dialouge )replacing it with that GREAT fight scene), and compared to the recording of the stage show, MUCH MORE EARPLEASING.
"During this performance, please feel free to let your cell phones and pagers ring willy-nilly. However, do remember that there are heavily-armed knights on stage and you might well be dragged up and impaled."

Sure...my lil sis is about your age, and when we walked out of theater, she said to me, "Can I say that the Phantom was sexy?"

I just jumped in, but I definetly want to get on the list for people who LOVE LOVE LOVE CANT-LIVE-WITHOUT the POTO movie! I thought it was AMAZING and better than the stage show. Even if the acting sagged on rare occasion, the brilliant production design especially the rich costumes and fabrics, made it amazing just to look at. Id love it just as much if I was deaf! Emmy's singing has been criticized over and over, and but shes a hell of a lot better than A LOT of people out there, prbably than most bashing her, and her BEAUTY makes up for anything anyone can hold against her. I mean, that girl is BEAUTIFUL. No other word can describe her... I mean, shes out of a painting. WOW! Gerald is also AMAZINGLY sexy and equally talented, even when he doesn't even talk. He said enough with his eyes as he gazed longinly from above, or vengefully from below, which I think is the mark of an extremly talented actor. Theres been talk about how they should have just cast Antonio Banderes, but I completly disagree for more reasons that I can list. Patrick Wilson was my least favorite of the characters, but he was still hugely talented and well cast. Minnie Driver was AMAZING as well. She was just hilarious! Perfect for the part, although many would disagree ON FIRST GLACE. This just goes to show how wonderful a character actress she is as well as a beautiful romantic leading woman. Miranda Richardson was also fabulous in my opinion. I was always very intrigued when she was in the scene and I found myself excited when she would come on. She was so mysterious, and PERFECT! I loved her so much! The rest of the cast was very well cast except for the whole midget thing which Im guessing I don't really understand...
Things I loved: >Moving the chandelier scene - I mean come on... It just makes more sense... >The PONR dancers- This has also been highly critisized, but I thought it made the whole thing more mysterious and sexy. I loved it! >The entire opening sequence during the show's overture music when the chandelier is first hoisted up and the opera house changes from it condemned, delapitated state to a beautiful theartre. I also loved all the people rushing around backstage and the way they showed all that. VERY COOL. >All the flashforwards. This too has been criticized by many, but I thought it added a little bid more foreshadowing and mystery to the film, becuase even though youve guessed who those people in the b/w are (even if you're right), and can't [hardly] be sure until the very end. I also liked the various transitions from the b/w back the the color flashback throughout the film. (The one transition I can't stand is in Notes/PrimaDon when the camera zooms in on Carlotta's pink fur cape thing and fades into the dressing room scene- just looked cheap or something to me >The all black and white "Masq" dancers >The way Meg finds the mask and then looks up at the very end of the last color part of the film. That just seemed like an amazing moment to me. >Lastly, HATS OFF to the AMAZING production design team. The costumes and sets are amazing, georgeous and flawless. I was just speechless.
Thats all I can think of right now, but Im so excited that there are somepeople out there that are swaying away from the masses and actually LIKING this amazing film! Bravo!
EDIT: I'm 15, by the way!

I saw POTO twice with my bf and we both loved it. The first time I cried so much in the lair scene because of the way it was presented. One of the things I absolutely loved about the film were the costumes.
I have no complaints about Gerard Butler's voice, I understand he'd never sung in a musical before so for getting up and being in a movie musical was awesome. In what some people might think he doesn't do with singing he does in acting. The first viewing I actually felt pity for the Phantom which I hadn't experienced when I saw it done on stage.
Emmy Rosum and Patrick Wilson brought things to their characters that I hadn't noticed before. I was very impressed with this and hope to go see it again.
"The weight of this sad time we must obey, Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say. The oldest hath borne most; we that are young Shall never see so much, nor live so long"-Edgar in King Lear
Ah! I love this movie. Love: -Minnie Driver's look when the managers hand another poodle in Prima Donna. -In Masquerade when Miranda Richardson is coming down the stairs with her fan and is like "and what a masquerade." -Emmy Rossum's face during PONR -Carlotta's maid taking a shot before telling her Christine was a success -that guy mooning Carlotta
Edith 'Little Edie' Bouvier Beale: Do you think my costume looked all right for Brooks? I think he was a little amazed.
