Hi Guys,
Here is contact info for someone at Richard Frankel Productions - lori@rfpny.com. They are one of the producers of Gypsy . Please email asking that they do everything to ensure that Gypsy be filmed before it closes on January 11th. Just because the closeing has been moved up does not mean that they should ax filming plans. Also, Roger Berland is the other producer of Gypsy. I cant find his contact info. If someone can find it please post it.

Posted: 12/14/08 at 10:59pmThey aren't going to spend $1million because a few theatre queens sent emails. Whatever is to become of the rumored recording is already decided.

". . . is not only disheartening but rediculous."
Almost as much as misspelling.
If it's filmed, it's filmed. And those who want to see it will have that capability.
All I really want is for this to fade into history - and for the acolytes to recede into white noise.

Posted: 12/15/08 at 3:06amIn all seriousness, not trying to put anyone down, but I have a feeling all of your emails will probably not be looked at. I'm fairly sure the person you emailed is only a receptionist, and they have other more important matters to worry about. I know this becaue I had to send my resume through there for a job offering, and I believe that was the case.

And just because it will be filmed doesn't mean the public will have access to it. I don't see this being something the general public would flock to see though.
ALL b'way shows are filmed for the Lincoln Center's archives. (I think it is for them.)
And yes: I'm sure the decision has already been made.

God, I hate that expression......theatre queen. To me, it's like saying the N word......using the word queen.
Sure, ending an email couldn't hurt, but let's think logically. I seriously doubt that receiving some emails from Patti fans is, all of sudden, going to make the producers spend more money to have the show filmed?
We still don't know what the filming was for? Was it for private use, was it for PBS, etc..

DramaMamma, the recording was NOT for Lincoln Center. The note said, when buying tickets, MOVING cameras which are not used in the Lincoln Center recordings.
The note is not up for the new date.

Posted: 12/15/08 at 7:35pmIt would probably be more effective to contact someone like Stewart Lane who, along with others, footed the bill for the taping of the Company revival last summer.

Those people who received tickets for the original closing perf got a little slip of paper with their tix stating that there would be cameras moving around the theater to tape the performance.
I assume that this will apply to the new closing date aa well.
