This past Wednesday i went to Summer Shock with my best friend.(Wickedrox) We both were so excited to see this play. From everyone's reviews on this site, we were getting ready to see this hilarious show! When we sat down in our seats, we were so excited to be there and we were getting ready for the best laughs of our lives. As the show began, we were just staring blankly at the stage wondering what was going on. We had seen all of the plays that it roasted so that wasn't the problem. We didn't know what we got ourselves into. Don't get me wrong the actors were very good singers and were funny but the actual show was just missing something.

I saw the show on New Year's Eve and posted a lengthy message saying that it wasn't funny any more. The sharpness was missing and some of the performers weren't up to snuff. FORBIDDEN BROADWAY was brilliant for the first few years of its run, but now it's time to bid it goodbye.

The last time I saw it, it had gone horribly flat and stale. The performers just seemed to be going throught the motions.
Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

I was at the 8/11 performance also. I thought it was hysterical but it was the first time I had been to the show. Every one has their own view of what's funny so to each his own, right?
It's a new show as of I believe June, some new cast too.
Ummm...I think to understand what is so funny about it, you need to have seen more than just Wicked. I saw it two summers ago and laughed my butt off and again in the spring. It's hilarious.
alright so corine is gonig to hurt someone in this thread
I am sorry. I think Forbidden Broadway is the funniest show Off- Broadway.
Maybe you missed some of the inside jokes. The more times you see it the more you love it.
I do have to say that this version was not as strong as the others but it has a new version in September.
Donna English is no longer in the show and she was one of my favorites.
Did you love Defying Chenoweth?
(32 times and counting)
The Defying Chenoweth number is hysterical.

Wicked, I was in row E with my boyfriend (seats 9 and 10). I know the people you're thinking of. We were laughing but not that loud lol.

I know those people were very loud. When the guy was coming on to do I am My Own Wife, everyone started laughing and when it was silent i said "Oh i get it" a little too loud. Do you remember?

Corine, you state that FORBIDDEN BROADWAY will grow on me. Are you implying that the show is really a fungus?
Defying Dollypop should be the next song.
