Totally agree with you on his performances on Bojaxk. He was very funny and quite engaging in the 2 episodes. I also saw the production of A Christmas Story on stage and while I loved the show, I was not thrilled with Dan Lauria's narration or how he was used on stage. Wondering if Broderick's role will be strictly narration? I found having the narrator appear on stage was a bit distracting at times and would have preferred just hearing his voice.

LOL. This comment alone shows you don't actually know the musical. He won't be in it much. Calm down, gurl."
Jesus. He never claimed to know the show, only his dislike of Broderick. Why must you jump on everyone?
Great idea. Pity Fox's track record with these things is so abysmal.
^fox has only had one “live” production and it was 100 times better than all the shows NBC has produced.

They did the disastrous Tyler Perry Passion Play as well. However, their Grease is still the best of these telecasts.

I’ll be honest, I totally forgot about that. Though, does that still count towards these live telecasts of Broadway musicals? Plus that wasn’t produced by Marc Platt who produced grease and will be producing a Christmas Story and Rent. So I think it’s safe to think they will turnout better than the passion play.
They have an excellent actress for Miss Shields (the teacher), thought she would be announced with Broderick, but they might be spacing the announcements out!
Can you give hints or pm who she is?
All I can say is her name has popped up on this thread.

Rachel Bloom? Kristin Chenoweth? Caroline O'Connor?
^jane krakowski was also mentioned in the thread. Just not for mrs. Shields.
Jane Krakowski or Rachel Bloom would get me to tune in (I'll automatically see anything either of them is in).
Ana gasteyer wasn’t mentioned in this thread, but she would be a fantastic mrs. Shields

Did they wait this late to announce the cast for other live musicals?

They just cast a kid in the ensemble on Monday - they'd been pinned for four weeks already, but they were trying to find their Ralph and I guess they did.

No, that's not entirely accurate.

I know Hairspray already had a trailer by August and then Seaweed and Inez were announced shortly after (and then added into any new promos afterwards) and the cast performed for the Thanksgiving Parade.
If I remember correctly, I think Grease had its first trailer out around October or November? But it was also aired end of January.

KRAKOWSKI!!!
So happy about Jane, but Chris seems like a strange choice. Doesn't come off as the wacky dad character.
