The gays and the straights
And the white and the spades
To be quite fair I'm going to watch this strictly for the music and all star cast. In fact Jane's casting as Miss Shields has doubled my reasons to watch She Loves Me Friday on PBS
I was kind of hoping they'd cast Rachel Bay Jones as the mother since she just won a Tony and she played the role before the show hit Broadway, but I can't complain about Jane Krakowski, she's a national treasure; such a sweet, humble and talented actress; she will be amazing as always.
If they were going to go with an actor that most people had never heard of for the dad, why not just cast John Bolton? He played the role back before Pasek and Paul had written songs for the show, and he was so perfect when he played it on Broadway.

Maya Rudolph is playing the mother and Jane Krakowski is Miss Shields, the teacher.
I wonder if Jane will wear a dark wig to match the look of Miss Shields from the movie and stage show. If so, this will be Jane's first non blonde role in a looong time
I loved her as Pricipal McGee in Grease Live last year. In fact, she was one of my fantasy candidates for the Female Authority Figure in Hairspray Live. But my #1 candidate was Jane Lynch
I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet...
A CHRISTMAS STORY is one of my favorite holiday movies, but I didn't catch the musical. This cast is fabulous- they "look" the part without being carbon copies of the film actors. The Old Man is such a riot; I can't wait to see what Chris does with him.
Ralphie is so freaking cute, and I actually like the idea of Matthew Broderick voicing his older self...
Fox knew what they were doing with GREASE, so I hope this one is just as well-received!
I hope we get to see more videos and insights before it airs. I wonder if they’ll do a pre telecast performance on a talk show or something

The most recent poster. I think it looks great. I saw on Instagram that they were recently in the studio recording the album. Ana Gasteyer also recently said that one of the new songs is a Hanukkah song that she gets to sing. I'm really excited for this one. I loved the show when I saw it on Broadway and am looking forward to seeing what they've done with this.
