Obviously there's no way to know. But honestly, since they're only allowing one ticket per person, 300 people ACTUALLY have to be on the line. That's an awful lot. So I think it's fair to guess that you'd get in.

I'm just hoping they'll let us wait inside. I'm going to be like Silent Bob waiting to see the sailboat in Mallrats.
I'm really glad they are only giving out one ticket per person. This way nobody can leave and have a friend save their spot in line. Each woman for himself.
Wish I could be there, guys. Unfortunately, I'll be upstate tomm. I wish the cast well, and that you all enjoy Pinter's masterwork.

I would assume that there wouldn't be any sets for a one-night only performance? Does anyone know if the actors will be "on book" (reading with the script in front of them) or will they have it memorized? Is this a staged reading or a full-scale performance?
Seeing as they were to have started previews at the Cort last night, I think it's safe to say they have it memorized. This should be a full scale performance minus only sets and costumes.
(I had this wild thought that they were all asked to go out to the nearest vintage clothing shop and buy clothing appropriate to their character and the various scenes in the play. Costuming could get very interesting tomorrow night!)

haha, that's great! I can't wait to see what the costume situation is either.
Foster - I'm assuming they'll let people hold another person's place in line. If you're waiting for 4 hours, there will inevitably be the need for a bathroom break at some point... to be frank, lol. If not, tough cookies, I suppose.

I assume it's gonna be in the Gazillion Bubble Theater, since it's the only one that's empty on Sunday nights.
I imagine it'll be the full show, with intermission.

I don't think WBAF meant it like that, but rather in terms of saving seats for the entire time, and then having the second person show up five minutes before the tickets are released. If you want those tickets, you have to stick out the coooold.
Yankee, which theatre is that? I know them by layout, heh.
And Foster, come say hi!

Number 3.
I'll be there, too, if all goes well. I don't want to waste all day on line for tickets, though I can't imagine there'd be such a high demand...but, like Shakespeare in the Park, you never realize how many fans of theater (and free theater, at that) in NYC.
(Just as an aside, I think it's great how all 5 stages at New World are actually full - and playing successful shows, to boot!)
That doesn't help. Is it the one where Modern Orthodox was?
At first I didn't think it'd be THAT big of a thing, but considering that people miss Broadway AND it's free, I'm gonna make sure I get there in plenty of time. Because I AM getting in.
Miss Chung ~ I'm hoping that they'll do something similar to the Public with Shakespeare in the Park...where you're allowed the occasional bathroom break. Letting people hold places for friends really isn't fair. I will be really pissed off if I am in line thinking I've got a ticket and then someone has 20 or so of their friends come up at the last minute. I hope they keep it fair so that it really is first come, first served.

Yes it was, as memory serves.
It's a nice, intimate space. I can't imagine seeing the show at the Cort following this...since the Cort (while small) is significantly larger than Stage 3.
Oh, good, I like that one. I'm really curious to know if they'll just be sitting in a row of chairs and speaking their lines, or if they'll get up and interact with one another.
I can't see why they wouldn't take measures so that didn't happen. But yeah, if you want to go get coffee or use the bathroom or something, that's not an issue.

The line staff at New World aren't the most attentive people. I'm sure they'll have the space manager taking care of things.
Ahh, I'm so excited. This is like a freaking holiday.

I see what you mean about the line situation. Although when I've waited at the box office for tickets to other concerts, there were definitely people who had friends wait in line for them. And nobody stopped them - so who knows. Either way, I hope it gets a good turnout
I know the stage manager - it will be staged and off book.
If the friends are only standing in as place holders, I have no problem with that. I DO have a problem with one person standing in for a whole group. THAT is not fair.
So, what did everyone think?
