Or he didn't pay a penny and the the artists asked for it since most people on award shows are introduced with their upcoming projects. The whole idea being there is to promote.

You're telling me Jennifer Lopez wanted to be promoted as "From Finding Neverland The Album" instead of "Starting her residency in January 2016, ladies and gentlemen J.Lo!?"
