Thanks!
Perhaps they should delete the paragraph:
Full casting for the tour has not been officially announced, but some members of the current company are expected to appear in the national tour. Elena Shaddow, seen on Broadway in The Woman in White, will play the role of Clara, according to the actress' website.

Posted: 6/19/06 at 4:05pmI wonder if Leslie Henstock will understudy Clara...she was a good Cosette.

Posted: 6/19/06 at 4:17pmI will get to make a tradition of seeing Elena Shaddow perform every year on my birthday, March 9. I saw her in Carnival this past March 9, and as a bday present and recurring tradition, I will see her again in Piazza March 9! How awesome!

David Burnham is a marvelous Fabrizio (I saw him in the role 04-01-06). He plays it much more young and innocent, struggling for the right words... his "Il Mondo Era Vuoto" is far more desperate and beautiful than Lazar's (in my opinion).
AND SAN FRANCISCO GETS THE TOUR FIRST! JUST LIKE JERSEY BOYS! GAWDBLESS THE CITY BY THE BAY!

Posted: 6/19/06 at 4:55pmI am SO happy that I get to see David's Fabrizio. I saw Elena's photo in Show Boat and she looks a bit old for Clara? I mean compared to David's Fabrizio?

Well... I can't find their ages, but Clara IS older than Fabrizio by 3 years, so...
Edit: According to Elena Shaddow's MySpace, she graduated from high school in 1997. So she'd be around 26 or 27. That's pretty good to me.

Posted: 6/19/06 at 5:47pmElena is just turning 27 which is a perfect age for the role! Also, I saw David as Fabrizio, and not only is he the best Fabrizio ever, he is so incredibly nice! He invited me to his performance at Birdland tonight, which I could not make, but he is just such an awesome guy.

Clara is 26, Fabrizo is 20, making her 6 years older than he.

Posted: 6/19/06 at 6:03pmI go by the book, in which Fabrizio is actually 23 (Signor Naccarelli got his age wrong; some father.)

Posted: 6/20/06 at 12:49amI'm have a strooong feeling that Leslie will understudy Clara, and Wendi Bergamini (whom I saw on the CATS tour) will understudy Franca. Both will be AWESOME!

Laura Griffith was the first person I saw as Franca and she mesmerized me - she is one fantastic performer (of course, I'm just a tad biased, because we used to take class together)...I am so thrilled for her, because it is not only a wonderful role, but a great length of employment in a business that is not easy to stay active in.
You GO Laura! I'm proud of you!

Sounds like this should be a pretty solid and strong cast!

There are some really large venues on this tour schedule. The Orpheum in San Francisco, Fox in Atlanta, and Community Center in Sacramento are all big barns. In fact, in DC it's playing the Kennedy Center Opera House, which is larger than the Eisenhower, where MAME is currectly playing.
I'm afraid this lovely, intimate musical will get lost in all that space. Not to mention that there will probably be a sea of empty seats at each performance. Too bad, for it is a beautiful show.
