Is anyone going this Friday? Can't wait to hear how this does on a bigger/different scale.
What's with the race to start these previews threads...?
Yeah, for real. Plus the whole "BROADWAY" in caps thing is annoying to see on the homepage on a thread that is sure to be a popular one come Friday. Let's start a new one then, k?
I'm really excited for this show. I've listened to the cast recording so many times now and I'm ready to see it blown up into a Broadway production.

You obviously don't seem to understand how to be a decent person. Maybe you should take a class in that.
I'm sure After Hate will be there on Friday night, so he can come back here and bitch about how much he still hates it.
Did anyone see the "open house" preview photos? the set looks way smaller than at the Public. It looks super simplified.
Well, Circle in the Square has a completely different configuration than The Newman. Off-Broadway, it was playing a proscenium space with a deep, wide stage. On Broadway, it's playing in the round with a smaller stage. I'm sure practical changes had to be made to fit the new playing stage.

Did you watch the video of Sam Gold talking about the staging? He said the house will come up and down from the floor and talked about all of the complicated automation and technology. It sounds stunning and very unique, if they can pull it off.

I have to agree with Rocks. What is the point of all these Previews threads nearly a week before the actual previews? Really doesn't make sense.
Telecharge called me and asked if I'd relocate my seat from the 400s ($75) to the 100s (normally $150), since those "cheaper" seats will be obstructed view seats and likely used for Rush tickets. So I did. They kind of didn't give me a choice, either-- it was *highly recommended.* Better seats for the price I paid to save some money? Count me in. Has that ever happened before at Circle in the Square?
In any event, I'm not going this week, but NEXT weekend-- the day before Easter. Hopefully it's as wonderful an experience in the round as it was at the Newman. I wonder if the creative staff (authors and designers) and Sam Gold WANTED to do it in the round for this go-around, or didn't have a choice with the lack of available intimate Broadway houses? Or should I know the answer to that question?

Circle in the Square is a very malleable space. If they didn't want to do it in the round, I imagine they'd have had other options in determining how they wanted to use the space.
