Went along to get standing room tickets today (Wednesday) for Fun Home. We arrived at 8.15am and were 3rd in the line. The 1st guy there, got there at 7.45am. Next 3-4 people arrived over the next 30 mins (up to 8.45am). Then quite a few more people arrived after that. Probably about 30 people were in line when the box office opened at 10am. We got standing room tickets to the evening performance no problems. You can get up to 2 tix per person in the line, and its $30 each (tax included, and no further fees). Wednesday is a good day to go, because there are 2 performances on Weds (matinee and evening). If you are interested, you can then wait around for the Wicked lottery next door. That lottery opens at 11.30am, and closes at 12noon. We lost out on that- there were about 20 winners, from a crowd of about 60-80 people.
Anyone with any more Qs about my experience, PM me! I benefited from the info others posted here, and am happy to repay the favor.

Did SR this past Sat. I got there about 8:30 and was 5th in line. I was wondering it they would sell SR tickets since I knew both the matinee and evening shows were not sold out. But they did sell SR for both shows.
After I bought my ticket for the evening show I was curious if the unsold tickets would end up at the TKTS Booth. I took a stroll down to Times Square and the matinee performance was listed for 30% off.
Well, my husband waited for standing room this morning and they sent everyone away because the show isn't sold out. I looked on telecharge and there are only 6 unsold seats for tonight. He's going to go back again at noon and check if standing room is available then. Has this happened to anyone before?
Yup. They sell standing room only in the morning if they are sold out or look like they are gonna sell out. Even though there may be only 6 seats on telecharge there could be more being held at the box office not for sale on the website. If anything changes they may sell standing room later on in the day, pending the status of the show's ability to sell out.
Luckily he works in the area, so he's going to go back and check throughout the day. So weird, though, as I know people who have purchased standing room when there were still tickets available on telecharge! Was hoping for a similar miracle. I understand the policy though. Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
For what it's worth... Fun Home is up on TKTS today at 20% off! I only wish it were more because I would totally go tonight. This week Judy Kuhn's understudy is on while she is on vacation.
Not as of yet. The last time my husband checked was around 2, and they still weren't selling any... I'm going to swing by the box office myself in about an hour, but I'm not hopeful. Ah, well! No birthday miracle for me.
A few questions for those in the know. When does Judy Kuhn return from her vacation? Is anyone else on vacation in the next couple of weeks? And has anyone purchased TDF tickets recently and if so, where were the tickets located?
Thanks all, I'm heading to NY in a week from Australia ??
FYI - We never got standing room, HOWEVER, when I went to the box office just before 6pm and asked if they were selling standing room tickets, the man working (who was insanely nice, btw) said no, but that they had $52 seats. I hadn't seen anywhere that this was something they do... they weren't partial view or anything. Row H, 138 and 140. Great seats. So we took those.
I did see people in standing room spots once the show started, so they definitely sold them sometime between 6pm and 8pm.
It was incredible, by the way. So glad I finally got to see it.

Yes, Nicole Van Giesen is on all week as Helen, and yes, she also understudies Alison.
Are they still selling standing room when the box office opens? I've been checking the site for tomorrow and there are still 50 or seats to sell give or take.
If there are 50 seats, I doubt you'll get SRO out of them... I know when Audra's show was there, they wouldn't sell SRO if there were still 2 seats available...
Curious: are those decisions made my the production or by the house? I always assumed the production, but your comment made me think otherwise.

We won two tickets on the today tix lotto last month. Went to box office too early (like 10:30 for the matinee) and was told the list wasn't ready. We needed four tickets though and the box office sold two great seats at $52 each, row F in the 200's.
