What Musicals would you like to see hit the big screen in the near future?
For me I'd love to see The Light In The Piazza done On location, it would be beautiful. Or Maybe Dirty Rotten Scoundrels :)
DRS would soooo be awesome- but only with the original cast - John, Norbert, Sherie, Greg & Joanna
MISS SAIGON would be a joy to have on film. So would LES MIZ. There has been talk about both for a while now, but nothing happens
PIAZZA will be on TV the 15th.
They are doing HAIRSPRAY and SWEENEY TODD for sure.
Piazza would be so much cooler on location in Florence Italy thought.
Miss Saigon would be awesome!!
and as much as I hate to say it..Wicked would be pretty cool...however I'd like to see it done as the book and not as a musical.
With the OBC, DRS would make an excellent movie.
Wicked, I so want to have that as a movie.
As for movies turning into musicals....I'd like to see Moulin Rouge...>.>....
Drowsey Chaperone would probably be nifty too.
How about Millie?
or Sunset Boulevard
OH! I forgot to mention SUNSET BOULEVARD. Glenn Close and Ewen McGregor are slated to be in it.

I was speaking with my friend about this the other day, and there's now way the Drowsy Chaperone device could work in a movie. Plus, it's about theatre! That makes no sense.
I wouldn't mind Millie or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Still waiting for that Avenue Q tv show.

Sunset Boulevard? Seriously? I love Ewan and he has a nice voice, but he hardly has the chops for Joe. :/
I've always wanted a Miss Saigon movie! Even though I'm sure Hollywood would ruin it. Ragtime would be interesting, I think. Also, I think Aida would translate well onto the screen.
I havent seen Drowsey Chaperone, so I am not a good judge, but I thought it would be interesting to find out.
Ragtime or Parade would be fabulous.
Urinetown! I need a Urinetown movie before I die.
Taboo might be good.
Parade would be awesome.
I'd love to see a beautiful adaptation of Ragtime and Miss Saigon. God, Miss Saigon would really translate beautifully.
Cheers,
Christopher
I want a "Camelot" remake! And I want it done right this time, not like that absolute disaster of a movie that ensued the last time they tried it.

They`re making Bat Noy into a movie! And Deven May is already signed on to play Edgar!
Also Dr. Jeckyl & Mr.Hyde, Mama Mia, and Gypsy Remake!
Scoundrels, Piazza, and a remake of cabaret.
No more Gypsy. Let Gypsy be.
The Drowsy Chaperone would NOT make a good movie at all. Piazza is certainly cut out to be a movie though. I'd love to see WICKED, INTO THE WOODS, and LES MISERABLES.

Let Cabaret be, too. Fosse did a flawless adaptation.
A new Cabaret, even thought no one can replace Liz Minelli as Sally Bowels, but I would love to see them re make that! Its my favorite musical =]
Is Bat Boy still on? Because the last I heard they have just kind halted any devlopment on it. But it's still listed on imdb.com, odd.
It would be cool to have Cabaret with Alan Cumming, Sweeney (which is hopefully coming anyway), an actually good Threepenny movie, Jersey Boys already plays like a movie biopic onstage, so I guess that would be fine.
My top three are RAGTIME, MISS SAIGON, and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND.
I feel like a Parade Movie Musical might be weird, or at least not as accepted by the public, but that it could work well as just a movie. And I totally agree with Piazza and Ragtime.
