I did a search and couldn't find anything...did everyone see the new Gypsy's cover art? Considering I hated the old logo for this production, I actually don't mind this at all. Making Patti bigger and in a red dress (and a photo from this actual production) helped immensely. Thoughts?
I like it but always found it odd how Patti's name manages to be bigger than the show's title hehe

-- "it's official - the 'search' option on this board stinks."
Amen!

Yeah, it's kind of ridiculous, but I've noticed that it's not new for this show. When looking at the show art for the Gypsy revivals with Lansbury, Daly, and Peters, each poster has the respective actress' name as big as the title.
I'm still not a fan of the blurry text, but hey, what can ya do.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

am I the only one who is amused by the fact that, even though everything is written with capital letters, an effort is still made to make sure the "u" in LuPone is lowercase?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

RE: The size of her name vs. the size of the title...
The title is actually larger. Count the number of lights that go up on the "P" in gyPsy and Patti luPone and you'll see the ones in her name have 8, while the ones in the title have 9. Also... if you measure it, it's also slightly bigger....

Actually Patti's name is 100% of the size of the title. It's the same. Promise.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
I do like them using a photo of her actual costume and not the one from the concert, but I wish they would have spent the money on an actual photo shoot and not just photoshoped a production photo. Her left hand looks bizarre. It creates an odd optical illusion. Sometimes I see it cupped and sometimes I see it twisted backwards.
I was actually joking hence the 'hehe' and i don't mean by the actual size, it just takes up more room than 'Gypsy' not complaining, just saying if i were to look at that at a glance the first thing to catch my eye would be Patti LuPone lol!

The one and really only thing I hate about this current production of GYPSY is that poster...and I hate that it's on the Cast Recording. I just find it odd that such an innovative production has one of the worst ad campaigns on Broadway, in my opinion.
