I think Gavin Creel is excellent and has one of the best voices in musical theatre currently, but am I the only one who feels that, unfortunately he may be slightly too old to be playing an 19 year old in the BOM?
I would LOVE to hear him belt out those killer songs which I'm sure he'll do with ease, but I was curious to whether anybody else felt the same?

Kevin is actually 19

I had the exact same thought when I saw the news.
I love him too and I don't mean any negativity but he does seem too old for the part.
Oh well, he looks young and with makeup I guess....
I really am looking forward to his "I Believe" though.

don't get me wrong, I think he's phenomenal but I just cannot imagine him sharing the stage with those other Mormon boys straight out of Carnegie Mellon.

If it bothers you that much, just don't sit in the first six rows of the theatre. If Cathy Rigby can play a little boy, Gavin can pass for 19. He's so freaking talented. I can't wait to hear his "I Believe." It's not like those gym bunnies over at Newsies are passing for starving orphans.

Funny you mention this -- I don't think Gavin himself will look too old, but I am surprised at the age ranges of the rest of the guys in the cast.
The very first time I saw Nic Rouleau (who I love), I was distracted by how much younger he looked than everybody else, when that hadn't occurred to me previously (with Rannells and Duda). I don't think about it anymore, but that's probably because I've seen Nic 3 or 4 times since.
Though looking at the pics from Broadway Impact's march this past weekend, it's remarkable HOW much younger Gavin looks with a haircut and a shave. I think Elder Price is in good hands.
