I saw the production with what was considered the "West End Revival" cast when they came over to Toronto. (I wonder if casting had anything to do with it...the OBC are all fantastic performers that I would love to see) Personally, I think the show is a flaming mound of garbage. I usually try to get a show I didn't care for (Once or Cats) a second chance, but with this one, my self essteem isn't that low that I'd put myself through it again.
Although, to each their own. Congratulations on the reviews. Let's see how it plays out.

Reviews like this make me feel like I’m crazy. Saw the show off-Broadway and really left a sour taste in my mouth. Makes me wonder if I even saw the same show as the reviewers.

Are you at all intrigued to see how it is expanded physically for a Broadway house? I know that I am...and I loved it at the Public.

To be honest, I don't know how much it has been expanded for Broadway, as the production I saw was essentially a tryout of the West End remount. I would assume the production was the same as is on Broadway.

Wanted to give this another chance after not liking it much at the Public. I thought it was better on Broadway but still think it’s just not good. The songs, arrangements, and voices were great but the book still has no connection to the songs. I also just think the book is filled with cliches and frankly bad writing. Also, for such a Broadway show, I was awfully unimpressed with the acting and shocked at how often it seemed like people were forgetting lines. I felt the same way off Broadway. I thought Austin Scott did a remarkable job and really enhanced the production. I did enjoy the encore at the end though. I left feeling a little less depressed than I did after the production at the Public.
